I got the part number from my dealership I’m in Canada so hopefully it’s the same. I have an early 23 has the old style.

There is a secondary latch that prevents it from opening above a certain speed.

I threw my golf clubs in the frunk one day and when I came out from work I was surprised to see the hood open because they pushed up against the switch. I couldn't hide that I was going golfing that day when people walked past and saw my clubs in the open trunk.

I need one of these covers. Build was in June and I took delivery in July.

Yea my frunk poped twice so far when my tool box hit the switch while I was driving! very concerning.

On mine the front cover pops off. It almost looks like the older style is just half of the full cover.

The initial builds included a cargo net which probably minimized the chances of something inadvertently popping the frunk. Ford probably started getting some reports frunk popping on trucks delivered without cargo nets and came up with the switch guard as the solution.
This could explain the timing of the change.

If you've experienced the frunk releasing due to cargo shift file a complaint with NHTSA. That's how recalls are created.
