CSP-23B70 Certain 2022-23 F-150 Lightnings - BMS Sensor Replacement

contacted my dealer today and the first appt. was march 5th. they said they couldn't do mobile service for this CSP. They aren't even looking at it on the 5th and they are giving me a loaner vehicle.......really. For a 10min parts swap? I guess if Ford is footing the bill why do they care.

Am I the only one who got a recall letter from Ford today? It's about a 12 volt battery monitor sensor.
Is it worth the trouble to make an appointment to repair?

I got the mailed notice also, but had the csp show up on the website. Dealer ordered the new part a week and a half ago, and they still haven't gotten the replacement part in yet. Just call your dealer and have it fixed.

I had this conversation with someone just last week.

Them: "How's that Fix Or Repair Daily treating you?"

Me: "Quite well actually..."

Them: "Feels like every other week there's a new recall"

Me: "I'd rather they recall it. It means they acknowledge there's a problem and they're willing to fix it. Ford replaced my dash mat in case I wanted a fish tank on my dash. Meanwhile my Tesla lost a steering bolt - no recall - and when I called them, they knew EXACTLY what happened stating "oh yea, that happens all the time' "

As a Lightning and Tesla owner, I agree with you on this one. I look at it as a free coffee and carwash. I also like hanging at the dealer bc I am weird so....

Huh, go figure. That would explain a lot of the issues with OTA's getting installed. I'll check mine tonight. Thanks for the heads up!!

For real, I was beginning to wonder why my truck was not updating and if it was a problem just for me since the truck was imported from Canada to the USA. I wondered if maybe the truck didnt like being on a foreign network or something, I dunno.

Maybe now I can finally get the battery SOC % on the dash!

Great to hear. It blows my mind dealerships can be so bad at service. Most dealers are landlocked would be my guess - meaning if they built the dealership near a heavy population 20 years ago - they probably don’t have room to expand - let alone add on to a service department - but they are still selling cars every day. Where do all those sales go for maintenance ?

if a dealer can invest in a handful of service trucks my guess is they would increase revenue pretty easily and make a good profit.

my dealer said they will come to change all my ice vehicles oil if I want.

maybe I’m wrong - but even during a recession cars need maintenance

Definitely a few of these examples in Chicago. Perillo BMW, for example, does sales at their original downtown location but has bodywork and some light mechanical stuff removed to a different facility.

Since the BMS replacement I have taken two ~20 mile errand trips. I found LV SOC at 91% and 90% after trip completion. I have never seen LV SOC that high before. The new BMS is definitely resulting in better LV charging and higher SOC.
