Never noticed these lights staying on for any length of time before. Welcome lighting is turned Off. Keys laying 8 feet away on bench in front of truck. Also front light bar came on periodically during this time. Plus noticed center 12" display glowing. Truck is charging. Voltage sensor in 12V socket of dash is on reading 14.6V, hmm...that turned off after 10-15 minutes. Ford.com account shows 88% charge for 12V system.
After they all turned off, the center audio buttons are still glowing. Update 6.8 was a few days ago.
Any ideas if all this is normal?

Are you saying this happens when you shut off the truck? The puddle lights should never come on then.
Any chance the headlights are staying on due the light switch recall?

Yes, truck was just shut off at the time. Today found the Welcome Lighting was turned On after I saw this evening that they came on again. I would swear that I checked to see that the setting was turned off when I was investigating the lights staying on (Settings, Vehicle, Lighting). Oh, well, I will be keeping an eye on this occurring again. I might try setting the Welcome Lighting to On again, because I want to see the center audio buttons glowing again and time them out, if they do go out!

Does the truck ding at you when you open the door after shutting off? If so, you have the light switch defect.

Updates often turn on settings you had previously turned off. For me it's brake coach and the pretend acceleration noise.

Is this new? I haven't heard about a light switch recall.
There is no recall. Recalls are for safety items. Certain Mach-Es have a TSB(?). Same switch. Early Lightnings may have it also.

The brake coach happens to me too, but what is the pretend acceleration noise? Never seen a setting for that.

I've noticed goofy lights during the last update. I set the update to proceed, locked the truck and walked away. The lights stayed on for 10-15 minutes and seemed to cycle through a couple of different configurations. I attributed it to the update and haven't noticed it since. It was the recent Door module updates.
Any chance the update was happening?

I do not think so. Interesting that you experienced some lighting changes also.

I haven't noticed anything odd since the update however I don't have approach lighting on. I have the auto-deploying running boards and had to turn off approach lighting to keep the silly things from flapping every time I walked by.

I would guess if you had the keys in range of the truck, the approach lights would perhaps stay on.

They shouldn’t stay on. Should only trigger when an out-of-range key comes within range. That’s how mine works.

OP says the keys were on a bench 8 feet away. That is probably in range for the approach lighting..
