Do you have any faults at startup?
Yeah I have the same faults that 'hi im issac' mentioned; but it's only when the comma has to fully boot up from a power off state. I just remote start it and by the time I get in the truck it's ready to go and no chimes.

Otherwise it's been great.

I'm joining the fun. With the current sale ($200 off) I picked up a unit. I'm going to be getting a custom harness made so I don't get any of the error codes.

Did you get word from the person with the test harness?

Just installed my Comma 3X and drove it around a bit. Pretty remarkable, although I have a few kinks to iron out before I'm 100% comfortable with it.

For anyone thinking of buying one, make sure you get the long cable. Otherwise you'll be taking a last minute trip to best buy like me.

I'll post the usb cable that worked for me. You also need a 6 inch cat5 patch cable. Any will due. Keep in mind. Once the bugs are worked out with the modified q4 harness we will not need the usb cable. The supplied cables should work. I don't have any idea when but it should be soon.
Greetings,
Love the 3X's functionality in my RAV4 hybrid.
When I look up harnesses for Ford, they all say Q3?

Where do you get the custom harness made? Are Comma AI doing mods to the Q4 harness themselves?

Edit: Just purchased...been waiting for this for a while. Is there one particular software build that everybody likes or....?

There is somone on 14gen forum that can make them. I can too as soon as my hand heals

Following. I had an older version of comma.ai in my Honda Pilot. I have been considering it for the Lightning. Bluecruise in my truck ping pongs to the point where I have to interrupt it and take over. I suspect this is due to the increased torque required to move the 22" wheels & tires I've installed, despite the fact that they are the stock size for the Platinum model (and I have a Lariat). I'm concerned that the comma would still have this issue since steering torque is a level deeper than these tools are able to influence. Does anyone have experience with this?

For the harness, @Ajzride from the 14th gen forum is helping.

Comma is currently not modding the harness.

SunnyPilot is the best fork for our vehicles currently.

I want to keep watching this. I may get this for my wife's rav4. Sounds like the faults are understood to be a cable issue for the Lightning.

I am still learning but it looks like sunny pilot will drive better, center better, driver further, and lane change? While also being less annoying?

Seems way better than bluecruise.

Not sure if I have an account here, or if it just shares with Gen14 forum.

Attached is the getting started guide for SunnyPilot.

Modifying the harness isn't hard. There are only 12 wires that need to run from the IPMA to the rearview mirror:

Camera CAN0 High
Camera CAN0 Low
Camera CAN1 High
Camera CAN12 Low
Camera Ignition
Camera Ground
Truck CAN0 High
Truck CAN0 Low
Truck CAN1 High
Truck CAN12 Low
Truck Ignition
Truck Ground

All of the other cables need to be cut and jumpered together at the harness.

When you extend the wires for Camera CAN0 H/L, please a 60 ohm resistor across them. Same for Camera CAN1 H/L.

The cabin environment is not as brutal as the engine compartment, so I used solder-seal devices for making the connections between the cut wires and the extenders.

Type Q4 in the search instead of Ford... or if you type in Ford/scroll you need to go to the bottom as it is found under a second section called "Development Harnesses"... the full name is "Ford Q4 Harness".
