He instead purchased an aftermarket adapter on Amazon, "since I am impatient." ​

Ultimately, the Rivian owner's adapter didn't work, so he decided to leave and head to a nearby EVGo charger ​

This makes me think that he bought a L2 adapter, so it wouldn't have worked.

We only have the Rivian driver's version of the story, but it does sound like the Tesla driver was suffering from a bad case of entitlement. I wonder how things will go as SuperChargers get more clogged with non-Tesla owners. Blocking two spots like the Rivian owner was doing is sure to be ever popular down the road!

Tested my adapter for first time yest afternoon at a moderately busy SC near me and I am not sure anyone even looked at me! The far right one was open, so I was able to use it without blocking others. Worked great, although I haven't received the plug and charge update which is annoying. Course I will really only use on a road trip and would probably buy the sub for that and wouldn't be able to plug and charge anyway...

Tesla owners will just have to suck it up and learn to live with it. Every business that makes money off of selling "stuff" like iPhone and cybertruck will do what they can to supplement their revenue from sales as much as possible with renewables like service and energy. Tesla's revenue from superchargers will grow by opening them up and once they get the taste of new money, they are not going back. They will adjust the cable length, remove the signs and add superchargers to keep us around and get more of us to charge.

I had two Tesla drivers give me grief at a busy location. One just made a comment. The other ranted a bit. I told him to call Elon. A few minutes later he was smoking a joint (he was the passenger) when I explained things to him. This was in London, Ontario. He said "is that an American charging thing on that side" and "what's a Rivian?" during our conversation.

I could give a rat's behind if anyone cares if I take 2 spaces. Tough noogies.

I also had several drivers welcome me. One woman wanted to shake my hand (weirdo). A guy said it was great.
