Years ago a company I worked for had a mandate to layoff close to 30% of the company when the stock market crashed (no, not that crash, before that). We were given instructions to make a list. I argued that my department (5) was indispensable, and could not be laid off. No one was in my small group. No one above us said "you have the gall to say NO to me?"
Sandy Munro is an engineer. He runs a company with 50 employees, and revenue of $10.9 million. Has he ever run a department of 500 people? He may be a good engineer, and maybe a good CEO of his company, but saying Musk has a fiduciary responsibility to justify what he did is simply bullcrap.
