I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem and how the dealership took care of the issue. I have only had the truck for a month and it seems pretty clear that the chipping was caused by how the frunk is closing and causing the paint to chip. It is only happening on one spot on the right side of the frunk. Thanks for the help.

I can't tell what you're looking at? Top of passenger side fender panel? Maybe a wider angle shot would help.

But I haven't seen this mentioned in my 3 years on the forum.

To me it looks like something about 2" wide was laying on the top of the bumper when the frunk was closed?

The damage is in the shape of the edge of the frunk lid and placed right where the lid lands. It seems to me it is from repeated stress every time the frunk is closed.

Seems plausible. The frunk shouldn't be touching when it's closed. Will you post a photo when it's closed?

The frunk can be adjusted easily enough but I'm not how the paint damage is covered under warranty. I don't have time to look it up right now but your warranty terms are spelled out on the FordPass app.

There should be a gap there when closed, I'd watch it cycle full close to see if it touchs during the process.

Possibly check the stops for the frunk lid. I noticed my frunk would shake when goin past large vehicles. Adjusted the stops up one turn and the shaking stopped. Loose stops could allow rub damage similar to yours.

Take a sheet of paper, & Close the frunk. then try to pull the paper out, should slip out easily w/o any resistance. It looks as though the spot your indicating is where two parts are touching and vibration is wearing the paint off.

I tried the paper test and sure enough the paper would not release. Did the test on the other side of the bumper and the paper released no problem. I am waiting on dealer to figure out how this can be resolved.

Thanks for the help.

A sheet of paper?!?!
I routinely run electrical cords from the outlets with the frunk closed and the cables fit just fine without pinching nor binding. The gasket takes up all the slack. I think it is really well designed.

Hi, Rod, that is kinda the point. In your case the "body parts" Frunk hood, and bumper are not , touching, the gasket that seals the Frunk should be the part that is touching. But in the OP's post there is more touching than JUST the gasket.

The solution is to adjust the front and paint the plastic piece. I had the misfortune a few years back where the dealer scraped the bumper cover on my new Suburban. The ran it through the body shop and you could not tell it had ever been painted.
