2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash (+9.6kW PPO, Max Tow)
Just posting this for others who are shopping around who have A/Z plan. Ford is offering a number of incentives now that we are in the last quarter. This isn't as slick as the left over 2023 stock deals where people were picking up Lariats for $45K, but it's an ok deal for something fresh off the assembly line with a heat pump and a few features.

I was told these *do* apply to regional stock ("build and buy" stock), which is how I would recommend getting the truck (so you don't get a truck that was sitting on the lot at 100% SOC for 8 months). A/Z discount varies by VIN (post ~June 2024 build date gets bigger A/Z discount). Bonus cash varies by region.

Options:
312A (Flash)
+9.6kW ProPower Onboard (+$1200)
+Max Tow Package (+$1100)
+Mobile Connector (+$500)
+Spray in Bedliner (+$595)

$73,485 MSRP
-$ 5,605 A/Z Discount
$67,880 A/Z Price <-- MI taxes on this price
---------------------
-$1500 Tesla Competitive Conquest
-$7000 AXZD Plan Bonus Customer Cash
-$2000 Ford Power Promise Alternative Bonus Cash
($10,500 total incentives)
-$7500 Federal Tax Credit (taken point of sale)
------------------------
$49,880 after discounts
+$4,073 MI sales tax
------------------------
$53,953 with tax
$899/mo for 60 months @ 0% APR (Ford Credit)
Zero down (tax credit is applied as a down payment)
Plus doc fee (capped $150 for A/Z), tags/title/etc...

I took advantage of this at the end of August. While I did not qualify for the Tesla rebate, I did have an additional $7500 from Massachusetts which brought my total savings to $30k off MSRP along with 0% for 60 months.

My one regret with the Lightning was being lazy and impatient when shopping, resulting in me paying over MSRP in Feb '23. Oh well. I'm still happy every time I get behind the wheel. That's a smokin' deal for those still looking.

It was impressive that they were still going over MSRP this late. I personally waited because I knew a mass produced product would eventually get under MSRP. Glad I waited.

As for this post, what is a A/Z plan?

What’s important to note is that the $7000 rebate also applies to X-plan. Not as much of a discount but still an extra 7 grand off.

Is that still the case? I know it used to be $75 for the longest time but I think that got changed recently (maybe around 2022?) because everyone around metro detroit is charging $150 for A/Z buyers.

Was that in May 23 when I paid it.

As for this post, what is a A/Z plan?
It's an employee discount plan offered by Ford. The employee (or retiree) generates a pin for you, and you supply that PIN to the dealer for the discount. The PIN is good for 1 year.

A Plan = Active employees and their family. The calculation is Invoice - Holdback - Advertising Fee + a $275 program fee. Because holdback and advertising are baked in (and that varies per dealership and region), A plan discounts vary by dealer, region, and even VIN.

Z Plan = Retirees and their family. It's practically identical to A plan.

X Plan = Friends and neighbors. It's A plan price, plus 4%, plus $150, so not as good.

When you use plan discounts, "market adjustment" is prohibited by Ford, but so is buyer negotiation. So it's this price, take it or leave it. Dealers are also capped at what doc fees they are permitted to charge. Overall, it's typically a really good deal if you can get an A/Z PIN, not so good with X plan.

That’s a great deal
I purchased a pro in May 2024. With the rebates and 0 down, 0% interest was 833.00 on a similar package. Pro power, tow package, bed liner, tailgate step.

The Flash I leased in sept. Identical package as yours 73k msrp except on a lease the best they do is 0 down 1.1% for 36 months 10,000 miles annually. 799.00 a month. Differense is you own it and I leased it and walk away in 3 years. Or buy it out at 45k plus tax. Not sure it will hold that value by then.
Enjoy the ride, I do that’s why I have 2.

Very few people will get all of the AZ, AZD and Tesla discounts.

-$ 5,605 A/Z Discount
-$1500 Tesla Competitive Conquest
-$7000 AXZD Plan Bonus Customer Cash
============================
So that's 14,105 in discounts that most won't have.

I wanted to lease for 2 years because I know T3 is right around the corner, but after doing the math, the residual after a 2 year lease would be just about as much as I'm paying for for the truck brand new, so I would be overpaying for the lease. Ford is only passing along $3500 of the tax credit to the customer in lease cash, which is disappointing.

Very few people will get all of the AZ, AZD and Tesla discounts.

I live in southest Michigan where the entire economy here is built around the auto industry. Many people here work for or have family that works for Ford.

Not getting plan pricing opens you to dealer negotiation. If it's been on the lot for about a year, you can actually get better deals without A plan.

There's also truck conquests available (incentive # 31024, 31026, 31028), giving you $1000 off if you own a RAM and $2000 off if you have a Silverado.

For those with the Ford plans, I can’t seem to find anything useful on the Ford Partner website compared with the info it had previously provided.

For example, it shows $8750 incentives for my area, but there’s no breakdown for that, also when I view inventory or use build and Price it doesn’t show the plan pricing?

Plan discounts themselves vary by region, dealership, even individual VIN since they are based on things like dealer holdback, advertising costs, and invoice dates. So you probably won't find a flat discount anywhere.

The $7000 A/Z bonus cash is program #90148 (at least for my region) if that helps.

My first purchase attempt fell through with my dealer since the plan discount was about $3000 less than what I was told over email. I walked in fully prepared to drive the truck home at a price pre-determine and I had to walk out of the dealership with nothing. They were able find a cheaper truck with a bigger A Plan discount fresh out of the factory, and that's what I'm waiting on now.
