Oh that's an easy one...there's no OTAs available, but that doesn't mean there isn't a laundry list of available software updates in FDRS to be applied.I would not mind paying out of pocket at this point...I honestly wish that was offered! I guess I don't understand how I see yall using FDRS to update your modules but a dealership says there is not update available...
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I am sure you are busy.
Two separate things entirely.
Software engineers determine a fix needs to be made because of observed behaviors or aggregate DTCS from the population in the field and so a fix is made and posted to FDRS. Whether or not that makes it's way over to the OTA team for distribution that way is a whole different thing. That same fix would then have to be approved for release as an OTA and packaged in a way that it will process correctly as an OTA and then it's tested to make sure it will in fact not bork something, and then it's queued up for those vehicles based on VIN that would benefit from it.
I just skip all of that and do all my own updates on both of my EVs because they both are happier when all the updates are applied, and as a result I am too. I get that not everybody wants to or is in a position to do this. But it's either that or be at the mercy of a dealership.
