PSA: Get an Additional BlueCruise Year for Free (2022 and 2023 Models)

This was on a '22 Lariat. Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 as @Pioneer74 notes.

No where did the window sticker note 36 months, but that had to be part of the order guide because it was well known.

If I recall correctly. Co-Pilot 360 will remain active on the Truck but requires hands on Steering wheel. I had this on my ICE XLT. This was the hack where people were putting weights on the steering wheel.

If you purchase a BlueCruise plan after the expiration of the complimentary trial or included duration, your Connected Service term ...........continues until the expiration date indicated on your order confirmation and in the FordPass app, or will automatically renew if you purchase a monthly or annual subscription (“Subscription Period”).

For automatically renewing Connected Service plans, you will be charged the plan amount (plus any applicable taxes) each billing date via the payment method in your Ford Account, after you activate BlueCruise, and you will continue to be charged on a monthly or annual basis, unless you cancel.

........If you purchased a Connected Service plan, you may cancel your Connected Service plan within 14 days of receiving your initial order confirmation for a full refund, but your ability to use the Connected Service will end immediately.

After the first 14 days, your purchase of the Connected Service plan will be non-refundable.

I assume we are on an Annual Billing. And the $0 Renewal we are electing now is the "included duration". I have not found a way to non-select auto renewal so I would mark my calendar for the 14 day period beginning on the expiration date of the service to cancel, if there is a charge.

Note that after 14 days you may cancel (so do not do 20 days!), but there is no refund, but your service will continue. I would mark my calendar three times for the 14 days after today (if you took their offer today), 14 days after you receive the email, and 14 days after the renewal date. Once again, this turns out to be another Ford communication mess, something they really need to fix some day.

Good point about setting multiple reminders to cover any interpretation of the billing/expiration dates. I decided to use 20 days just to avoid canceling in 14 days and accidentally finding out that I terminated my subscription because I mis-counted the days or there is a time zone issue or something—stranger things have happened.

I'd check the fine print. 2022 models, or at least per my window sticker, make no reference of a trial of any period. My truck window sticker says BlueCruise is included, without any limitations. On connected services, of course, it says I have a three year trial. Later window stickers specifically DID have the trial period language. I wonder if this is Ford trying to clean that up. I haven't bothered taking this up with Ford yet, my "trial" is active through later this year, but it's something I plan to explore nearer the supposed expiration. Question is whether if you accept this offer do you explicitly agree to terms that remove the potential "ambiguity" for 2022 models where BlueCruise was not sold to us as a trial.

My window sticker makes no mention of the word BlueCruise anywhere on it. But I knew it came with it before I bought it...and I knew I was getting a 'trial' for three years.

100% Yet another missed opportunity to gain some brownie points from the community. That past few posts from @Ford Motor Company have received very mixed responses. Announcing this here would have been overwhelmingly positive. I do feel kinda bad for the '24 owners, but only kinda. You folk at least get to test out 1.3, I'm not confident I'll get it OTA before even the extension ends.

For 2022 Lariats, there is no mention of BlueCruise on the sticker. It was part of the CO-PILOT ACTIVE 2.0 option included with the 511A(ER) and optional on the 510A(SR). The 2022 Platinum included BlueCruise as standard equipment so it was listed in the upper section like post 80.

Both the 2022 Order Guide and 2022 Packaging Guide that were released before ordering state that CP Active 2.0 has BlueCruise and Parking Assist and includes PAAK. No mention of term.

This was cleared up on 2023 and later with explicit 3-year or 90-day wording.

We forget there was BlueCruise before the Lightning. It was offered on certain 2021 ICE F-150's and Mach-E's as an OTA. In Ford's original Press Release for BlueCruise in 2021, they mention the software portion is $600 for 3 years - that was sometimes included as part of an option or upper trim package.

A MME owner reported this morning that he received an email yesterday due to his 'trial' expiring in two weeks. He pressed the "Renew" button in the email and selected the 0$ option for his freebie year extension.

So he was given plenty of notification of expiration, and complete control over the process. You should have no reason to think that they'd do business any other way.
