That OBD will allow you use ForScan to turn some options on or off.

You need to get this one for FDRS which will allow you to update software.

Then you also need a 12 volt power supply that supplies 75 amps, and a Windows computer that has USB ports so that you can download FDRS and ForScan software (and purchase licenses). Also need a small USB flash drive for FDRS updates that require it.

Search for "FDRS" and "Forscan" in the forum search box for tutorials on each and much more information. Neither are easy or straightforward to use.
Thanks. Don’t want to mess around with fdrs software. Going to do forscan and see what I can activate

You should be able to enable lane change/in-lane repositioning for Blue Cruise using FORScan if you've had the front sensor csp done. The instructions aren't public as those who discovered it got apparently got yelled at by Ford when they posted it but you can ping rugedraw or someone who has previously enabled it.

For WAL, the dealer would need to update the BCM for it to work. It's enabled by default after they update it so the dealer obviously didn't update "everything". FORScan is just needed if you want to disable it. See F150 Lightning FORScan thread - Version 2 | Ford Lightning Forum For F-150 Lightning EV Pickup: News, Owners, Discussions, Community for other FORScan mods.

And for anyone that decides to splurge and buy the mongoose, you don't need a secondary cable for FORScan as it will work for both. My Obdlink EX has just been collecting dust since I got the mongoose.

1.4 OTA, no walk away yet. Is there a way to do it through ForScan?

I found FDRS to be easier to use than FORScan.

I know you are right. The advisor said to me “ford won’t pay us to do updates” I got the software recall done and dealer said they did everything. Who knows what’s true
This is some F’n BS and will needs to change or at least provide a reasonable charge to have these done until they no longer support the vehicle.

The post right above yours explains it (post 17).

You can enable it in FORScan now - it toggles back off after a few seconds when the BCM still needs updating (by dealer or OTA).

The F'n BS is that Ford doesn't have them all pushed to all of our trucks and installed. No dealer necessary. Why cause this kind of discourse between your buyers, your worthless dealers and FOMOCO? Just push and install the freaking updates. FOMOCO is so tied to their whiny ass rich dealers they refuse to do what's right.

I just had the TSB update last week and WAL now works. Was not expecting that.

I enabled WAL via FORScan and then while my truck was in for the CarPlay TSB, I said “oh also, my WAL isn’t working” and they updated the BCM while they’re were doing everything else. From my experience, if the the tech can see the option there in SYNC, they’ll follow protocol (updating BCM) instead of spending time looking into “oh this vehicle actually never got WAL from an update. They must’ve tried enabling it themselves via FORScan.”

I bought my ‘22 used back in January, and it had WAL. I didn’t even know a lot of these trucks didn’t have it! That’s wild.

No BC 1.4, though. I’m taking a 4200 mile roadtrip in early May, so I really hope I get it before then.

WOW! a 75 amp battery charger!? That's a beast!
Yup. As mentioned, your standard off the shelf battery charger (noco, etc) isn't going to cut it here. Updates for the IPMA and CMR can pull 60+ amps for 1-3 hours so a 75 amp power supply is probably the bare minimum to avoid any 12v related issues with some opting for 100 amps. The other updates are relatively fast or use a usb stick with the truck running (apim, gwm, tcu). If you like to live dangerously, you could probably do most of the updates (excluding ipma/cmr) with no power supply or a smaller one assuming your 12v is 100% charged but not worth the trouble.

Where in the app can I find the details of my software? I have not been able to find that information in the FordPass app. In fact, I just checked, and I cannot even find any record of software updates, much less the details of what has been completed.

you can check Software Updates for any updates you've received in the last 90 days or so. If you're curious what modules you have showing updates, you can check with someone with FDRS or PTS access. I had 20+ modules with pending updates when I checked my 23 last fall.
