Hi, I bought one of these 2024 lightnings last month and the advertised range on the factory sticker is 320 miles. I understand that I may or may not obtain this range based on blah blah blah. HOWEVER, shouldn't my display state that when I charge to 100% that 320 miles is anticipated? Mine is not showing that. I shows only 273. WTF? Any ideas?

Yes, I read most of that thread. It states the blah blah blah part over and over again. Why wouldn't the display read 320 though? If that is just the guess o meter wouldn't it guess 320 every single time it is charged to 100%?

edit: OK, i read more pages and here's the conclusion: People think it is because the "guess" by Ford is actually based on prior driving habits, temp, etc. so it's actually a very educated guess. I do drive like a 13 year old at a go cart track, so that highly decreased range makes sense.

It's taking outside factors into account with the displayed range. Driving habits and temperature are the two biggest.

When it warms up, the displayed range will be higher.

OTOH, if you drive like an old lady, you could get crazy high guestimate. Here's mine from a few weeks ago:

This works out to full charge of 325 miles on a standard range battery.

It tries to make an educated guess, but often itā€™s not good. Temperature is a huge factor. If itā€™s cold where you live, you might drive 50 miles and the GOM will drop 75.
You will lose about 1/3 of EPA range when itā€™s below freezing and 1/2 when it gets to zero F. Enter a destination in the nav, and you can easily get a 50 mile step change in the GOM. If I could, Iā€™d turn off the GOM display and only rely on the MPK and SoC.

Right now, my ER shows 211 miles at 80% SoC. The extrapolates to 264 at 100%. In current weather conditions, Iā€™d be lucky to get 200 at 100%, much less 211 at 80%!

That is quite common for iOS apps. I have some old phones I use without SIM cards for geocache education. They have old versions of many apps. Apple won't delete the app from your device but if you ever delete it, you can't get it back.

The App store says the minimum iOS for FordPass is 16.5. The XR is capable of running that iOS version (iPhone 8 and newer). So @supertallteacher just needs to update his phone (but I bet he is out of memory).

I live in SoCal. It was 65 today. The weather is not a factor for me.

Maybe Ford tweaked the GOM to be more accurate? Back in my day - late 2022 - the GOM seemed semi-accurate, but it was changed at some point to display EPA range above 80%. Maybe it's more accurate again. If that's the case, it's a good thing.

You can reset your driving history in the truck. I think it's in the instrument panel settings but don't quote me on that.
