I just got the email today saying that mine is on its way.

If i read it right, they want us to just recycle the old one? I thought we were supposed to mail it back to them?

There will be instructions on how to disable it prior to ‘properly’ disposing of it (recycling electronics).

It’s just bending down or breaking the small electrodes that are used to communicate with Superchargers.

Received the replacement today. No instruction on how or to whom the proof of disabling should be sent to.

I guess I’ll remove and photograph the two communication pins and send it to their customer support group along with the order#.

I just received the replacement A2Z adapter and it’s quite an improvement over the original version. Awesome customer service and support from this company! Thank you.

I think it's ridiculous that this is being forced on A2ZEV--the adapter is better made than the official Ford one made by brand-T. I may just buy a new adapter from A2ZEV instead of asking them to replace my original.

The official Tesla made adapter feels like they've squeezed every possible penny of margin out of it. It feels cheap and janky. It's unsurprising that Ford would switch to purpose built Lectron unit.

If you want to help A2Z, do destroy your first gen adapter as instructed. Those confirmations of destruction help with their insurance costs. Even if you want to support them by buying another, it's really important for them that the old adapters are properly destroyed.

I feel much the same. These two corporate behemoths get together on this groundbreaking deal, which is great and a real game-changer for us, but then can't produce the piece of hardware that actually enables the whole thing for several months.

This small company seizes the opportunity, designs an adapter, stands up production, meets the demand, satisfies thousands of customers, enables lots of worry-free summer road trips, and then one of the behemoths turns around and leans on them, forcing a recall on what seems like a rather ticky-tack technicality.

A2Z was definitely accepting considerable risk getting an adapter out ahead of the standards/UL certification, and they got burned a bit. But they produced a safe, quality product at scale long before Tesla was able to. Comparing the Tesla produced adapter that I just received with my original Typhoon, if I had to choose, I think I'd choose the Typhoon. It just seems more well constructed.

I am going to accept my replacement Typhoon Pro, but I have every intention of making up for that loss to them with additional purchases. A2Z is going to be supplying a number of Christmas gifts from our household this holiday season.

This company won me over with excellent customer service and quality products. I don't want them to lose money over this.

That's a great point.
