Oh I see I might have missed that pattern on the cameras being from a 24 and installed in a 23. I just was not sure if there is a particular set of mirrors from the years 21 to 23 that I should be looking for. The only variation I could find is that some power folding mirrors are paint matched and some have the Chrome covers but they all have the same features as far as 360 cameras blind spot heat and puddle lights
Looking at this thread... saving pennies.

Just to repeat an earlier post, the 21 - 23 mirror caps are easily switchable, with three Torx screws, once You pull off the mirror glass. That makes the paint color far less of an issue. This might be the same between 21 - 23 versions and the 2024 version... I don't know.

I have the same understanding as you. Match up the features. Try to match the year for the best chance of success or swap over the cameras from old to new which is no good in your case

All power folding are color matched or chrome as I understand. Black is manual fold. In my case I will need to swap over my black skull caps (covers) since I couldn't get two matching colors.

I plan to swap mine out soon. Waiting on warmer weather. Too tight spacewise in my garage to do it inside.

Good luck!

Got some 21 lariat mirrors with PF for about 600 (chrome caps) very happy with thatl. Attached the harness and the new door switch, anyone know the exact forscan changes I need to make? I don't even care about the auto fold just need to be able to use the button. I have a 23 XLT. I assume the changes are slightly different than the linked YouTube video with the red ICE f150. Don't wanna break anything on my lightning so I want to make sure I make the right forscan changes. everything else including cams and lights work on my new mirrors

It is suggested by others smarter than myself to confirm any values with the spreadsheet by Livnitup. Looking at that the values match the instructions from Boosted Grey Goose and the linked Youtube video.

But don't trust me :) Backup the original files and confirm the values yourself to be sure before making any changes.

From line 50 in the spreadsheet:

740/741-03-16xxxxxxxx**--Mirror_Folding_Cfg: 00=Ford, 01=Lincoln, 02=manual, 03=powerfold

Thank you very much I will wait for some more feedback from others. But just so I understand this clearly if I simply wanted to power fold with the buttons I would use the 03 in the ninth and tenth digit? I assume Ford or Lincoln is the configuration of the autofold function which would still allow me to use the button to fold them whenever I would like?

Tries to go through the thread, I came up with the picture below but that doesn't look like it's all encompassing. I don't see the usual numbers and xxx

You can either make those changes in the non AS BUILT modules by searching for the functions, or you can look these up in livinitup's master excel file to find the AS BUILT changes

Thank you for the insight! My adapter gets here today and it'll be my first forscan adjustment. Also looking to add matrix headlights and increase heat on steering wheel. I was told to "backup" my settings before touching anything, is that necessary? Didn't see a tood guide on YouTube for that

The forscan stuff is all quite easy and straight forward, HOWEVER, I highly recommend you read through the tutorial which has a link in this thread:
https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/2021-f-150-forscan-list-database-spreadsheet.1578/

It is easy enough to fumble around and figure things out, but bricking your truck is not the same a bricking your phone or your computer. So I would err on the side of caution, read the tutorials, back up everything every time you make a change. Just in case...

If you are using the wiring harness from Boosted Grey Goose, email them after you receive your harness and they will send the instructions with installation plus the Forscan changes needed. They do not say they are for any specific model F150, so checking the spreadsheet to confirm would be smart. If you need the instructions PM me and I can share them assuming that does not violate any forum rules.

I agree with derelict that multiple changes are needed to enable the folding option. one that I listed is probably not enough.

I think that should work. As long as they are not model year 2024 mirrors I think they should work. 24 mirrors on a 23 truck is the only mention of the cameras not working that I have read about. I am not an expert, but I did scour the internet on this topic and there are maybe two references to that particular combination not working that I have found.
Oh I see I might have missed that pattern on the cameras being from a 24 and installed in a 23. The best resource I found for doing this is in this thread, I recommend you read all of it:

I'm interested in finding the least expensive mirrors and doing a skull cap swap with my black textured skull caps.

I'm struggling to figure out which mirrors work for this upgrade. This is partly because I'm not as familiar with F-150 ICE trims and options.

I read the F150gen14 forum front to back (but it was late last night, so I might have missed it), but I can't find much on why a 2024 mirror with 360 cams, BLIS, puddles would be a problem with cameras or especially with a skull cap swap. I see 2024 mirrors for sale on ebay, but not sure if they work on a '23 XLT because of the posts above.

Can anyone confirm that all F150 lightning Lariat and Platinum mirrors have power-fold, 360 cams, BLIS, puddles albeit they will be painted body color instead of textured black? If so, any 22-23 Lariat or Platinum mirror will work for this upgrade. What about known issues with 24 Lariat or Platinum?

I'll have to dig more on the F-150 ICE trims 2021+ because I'm not sure if all lariat+ trims included 360 cams, or not, or if some of the cams/puddle are different shapes.

I'm interested in compiling a list of compatible trim levels and identifying aspects in photos because I feel like the info on ebay can't be trusted and needs to be verified. Also, it may help someone who wants to order an OEM mirror from Ford based on a certain F150 VIN that they know is compatible.

I had the same challenge as you when I started looking for mirrors. Ended up getting 24 year mirrors, but I have not installed yet. Waiting for warmer weather.

Anyhow, decipher the option codes to help you pick. Some have said 24 year mirrors on a previous year model had issues with the cameras. Those that had issues just swapped over the cameras from the old mirrors. That should work for sure, and you are already swapping over the skull caps so not much more work (I hear). At least one person said they had no issues with 24 mirrors / cameras on a 23 year Lightning.

Here are the 'codes' I have deciphered or found elsewhere"

RL34 17682 JB54WF (one part number I bought)

ML34 = 2023 year and RL34 = 2024 year if I recall correctly.
17682 and 176823 are for right hand and left hand mirrors.
The remaining portion of the part number must be color codes or something else I have not figured out.

Codes from mirrors:

P702 PF BLS PGI OAT CAM RH

PF = Power Fold (MF = Manual Fold)

BLS = BLISS / Blind Spot

PGI = Power Glass (heated / defrost)

OTA = Outside Temperature (only on the right hand / passenger side mirror?)

CAM = Camera (360)

RH = Right Hand

---

EC = Electric Chromatic (dimming - only on the left hand / drivers side mirror)

Hope this helps.

Also, I think the Gen 14 ICE mirrors are interchangeable and work for the Lightning. At least for the 22 to 24 model years. Hopefully someone else can confirm.
