If you don’t already know, Tesla, Hyundai, and Kia have a feature that when the turn signal is toggled, a camera feed shows a live feed of the corresponding blind spot. Well, I’m sure I’m not the only Lightning owner that wants this feature to come in an OTA update. I discovered a page where it shows a view of both blind spots (it’s supposed to be used when backing up a trailer), so the camera view is possible with the existing camera hardware. Maybe we can convince the devs to add this in an update sooner or later. Here is a picture of the camera view.

Agreed. Hyundai and Kia have perfected this feature; when you signal a round video appears on the side of the gauge screen that corresponds with the direction you have signaled. I haven't seen Tesla's implementation. Since most of their vehicles don't have a gauge screen I'm sure it's not as good as Kia/Hyundai but much better than Ford.

This should be standard on vehicles with side view cameras and maybe even mandated. It's that good.

Ford can't even make the 360 degree camera views the same on the MachE and Lightning, and they have the same 15" screen. It would be nice if they included this blind spot view, but have no faith they ever implement it.

This can be done. I have it on my truck. I am not sure if it works the same way on the Lightnings, but I would assume so. On the ICE trucks: If you have a 2023, it should just be a few FORScan changes to enable it. If you have an older model, it becomes more complicated. It requires side-loading the IPMA software from a 2023 truck with FORScan, and then FORScan changes to activate the feature and add the toggle switch to the APIM to turn the feature on and off. This works ONLY while towing, unless you can trick the truck into thinking it is always towing by plugging a low-draw light to the trailer harness plug. All credit to antho on the ICE forums who is the one that figured this out.

Edit: If you really know what you're doing, with the 2023 IPMA software, you can use FORScan to enable Bluecruise 1.2. I do not know what FORScan changes need to be done to enable that, though.

The mirrors and windows of the f150 are still good enough to not need camera views.

It’s such an easy thing to add OTA, it would be surprising if they didn’t.

I can tell you from experience that this feature is great. At night, the camera view in the touchscreen is much brighter than using the mirrors. This also provides a benefit to people that may not have the best eyesight by providing a larger/closer image of what is being towed as opposed to looking at the mirror.

Whether someone finds this gimmicky or not, the fact is that our trucks have the hardware for this and Ford can easily give it to us if they wanted to. There is a toggle under the driver assist menu that allows you to turn it off if you don't find it useful.
