I know of a member on the F150 forum that got into the testing program some months ago and it seems pretty cool. I got an invite recently. Hopefully I get in.

Same! I’m wondering if this is the system that could be used in T3….

The part that mounts on the window is huge and is right in line with your rear view mirror. There is also a box that would fill the space under one rear seat and you have to leave it plugged into the OBD port all the time so you can’t have ABRP or CarScanner running. I’ll just let insurance replace anything that gets stolen since the cops probably wouldn’t do anything even if you have video.

I think it's possible to plug more than One device into the OBD port via a Y-adapter.
Yeah, I was surprised that they didn’t make the connector a pass through. My main objection is the size of the camera and the fact that it has to mount to the sliding window. I have a tonneau cover and my truck spends most of its time in my garage so I’m not really concerned about monitoring the bed.

Thats what has me wondering if this camera will be replacing the current bed camera and tested as an OEM option for the T3.

The sad part is that we now definitely know that the truck cameras are not capable of a Sentry mode feature but I think that’s been known for a while

I am actively avoiding anything that requires a subscription.

It would make sense if Ford bought them for the software with a plan to eventually integrate the hardware into a new image processing module and use the hi mount camera.

Ford bought them in September 2024...

So this could be a replacement to our current truck bed cam instead of sticking one in the window. Wonder if they will start working on the other cameras also. I am assuming they will.

I got the invite, but I dont think I want it. It mounts to the window, which is annoying. It has a huge battery pack, and requires constant use of my OBD port. Not to mention, if someone steals something I have to go through the hassle of trying to identify them and get the stuff back which will probably not happen.

Edit: Oh, and the trial has an end date where I would either have to pay the subscription or rip this camera off my window...pass.

My invite said the “trial” ends this summer. So I suspect Ford is actively working on a path to integrate Canopy’s software into our existing hardware.

That would make sense why they only want beta testers for that short of a time and as Canopy’s website shows the subscription portion is ending so likely that means the LTE agreements as well. So maybe Ford is planning on using the native service instead or bundling it as a connected service.

Like others have mentioned my bed is mostly covered either by the bed tent or the tonneau , so the need for a bed only camera is basically not huge. If it was “360” like my M3 I would be more interested. Also not a fan of the glass mount approach when I already have a bed camera.

I have a BlackVue DR970X dash cam that records both front and rear and it's hardwired into the fuse box for parking recording. It's the LTE model so I can view a livestream whenever I want of the truck bed.

The rear cam is tiny, about an inch by two inches. It's out the way and can't see it from my rear view mirror.
