I received incredible news today!!!🎉🍾

Backstory:
I called the dealer last Thursday to make an appointment (appointment was for Friday morning)to have them look at the truck and figure out what the charger not detected situation was. I also called the Ford BEV hotline number, thinking that it was probably not a bad idea to let them know what was going on with my truck in case they needed to get engineering involved or just to keep the dealer on their toes.
Monday afternoon the dealer texted with the critter news and some text links to pictures of what they had found, soon after that my contact (Jessica)from the BEV team called me as well to inform me of what had been found as she had talked to them as well. Jessica said she was going to look into seeing if Ford would cover the repair, obviously this was quite unexpected as I knew this would not be anything that would be remotely covered under any warranty. I figured it was probably a waste of time for her to do that as I did not think there was any way that would happen, but she said she wouldn’t give it a try since I had always been a loyal Ford customer.(66 Mustang coupe 89 Mustang GT convertible 2000ish F150 2000ish expedition 2003ish expedition 2007 expedition 2010 fusion hybrid 2016 expedition 2018 Ford fusion hybrid so yeah, I have been a loyal customer🤣😂🤣)

This morning, I received a call from Jessica stating that Ford was going to cover the cost of the repair! I was utterly in shock. I did not think there was even a small chance that this would happen. Even as I am writing this, I still can’t believe it. She said that because I had been such a loyal customer, they had decided to do it. I thanked her and thanked her again. I just can’t believe how awesome that is. I don’t know that any other manufacturer would do this so many many thanks and kudos to Ford as well.
My service advisor called early this afternoon and confirmed that Ford was going to cover it and they should have it done tomorrow or Friday! I told him I could not believe it and he said must be hard work and clean living and I told him well. I do work hard. Not sure about the other-LOL
I just felt I should share my joy and excitement, and once again to give my deepest thanks to Ford Motor Company and their EV rep Jessica.

-Sorry for such a long post-

I've got these under the hoods of our vehicles and on top of LV battery on the lightning. I think they help.

My brother had a Maserati and at the start of Covid he left it parked. Thought the battery was dying and had it jumped started by AAA. ended up a Rat made a nest and when started it wend around the belt. made a mess. instead of just taking it to to a pressure wash rack, he had it towed to a Dealer. $5500.00 later the engine compartment was detailed, battery and belt replaced. No wires were chewed. Most of the bill was detailing as the dealer wouldn't touch it without cleaning up the mess. Fortunately Insurance covered all but his deductible.

This was his 3rd and last exotic vehicle. turned it in and Leased an electric Mustang. Perfect timing as it was on my Daughters 13th. birthday. told My daughter to be nice to Uncle Steve. The lease ends on her 16th. birthday.

Years ago, I tried ultrasonic rodent repellants in our cabin. They stopped working when the mice chewed through the cord.

I think with these its the flashing lights that do the most good.
I don't have a lot of faith in the ultrasonic part.

I figure they're cheap enough to try, nothing is 100%

I was reading about them recently, and apparently the critters get used to the frequency eventually.

I have a cat that helps deter rodents 😀

My daughters have a cat that I take care of!
So I guess you could say that I have a cat as well. Also a couple of neighborhood cats that come around our yard. Cameras catch them sneaking around occasionally. That is also one of the reasons that none of this made any sense?

I had to put a strong mesh on all my roof gable vents - raccoons where bending the louvers and pushing through the insect screens to enjoy the warmth of the attic in winter.

A pregnant one got in one year, had 3 pups, and drove our border collie crazy.

One day, the dog was scratching at the wood panel wall in the basement barking and whining.
I could hear animal noises inside the wall, so I made a barrier so anything that ran out could not run amok in the house and opened the basement door to the outside, then pried the panel off.
The three little raccoons ran out the back door, but the mother had gotten wedged between two studs upside down and was a bit stunned I guess, because it took her a few minutes to come to her senses and follow the youngins out the basement door.

Many raccoon generations later, raccoons cause backyard chaos nightly, pulling my pond pump out and chewing up the filter for example.

When I installed the piping for our whole house vac, I came upon a 3 foot long snake skin in the insulation! Looked like it came from a non-poisonous racer (we do have copperheads in this area, though I have never seen one, knock on wood).

Between the raccoons and the foxes, opossums, and two varieties of skunk that winter under my hot tub, our yard is frequented by "party animals" on a nightly basis.

Sometimes there are non-fatal inter-species (and intra-species) skirmishes, except for the ones involving small rodents (mice and chipmunks).

Life in the suburbs. Ain't it grand?

Well, if I was a party animal:wink:
The hot tub is the first place I would go!

Final installment to my saga!
(fingers crossed)

My truck has been repaired and is back home!

I guess they added a couple of energizers🤣😂🤣
(345 miles range)
Threw a few of these in and around the frunk compartment(got them from Amazon).

They have a quite strong peppermint aroma did not really notice the garlic, so I have to say I have the best smelling Frunk in the USA! (sounds like a song title)
Ordered some peppermint oil as well, so I can recharge the bags hopefully. I figured this was better than having fox urine or some other predator smell coming from my frunk and probably seeping into the cab of the truck.
