Climate Start Failed - Error Message

So, old man winter is here in earnest, and I can’t get my climate started remotely.
Problem seems to have started last week around the time that Ford Pass App 5.9 was issued.
Interestingly, I can lock and unlock, so it is NOT a connectivity issue. When I depress the fan-icon button, I get a spinning response and the vehicle will flash its lights twice and honk, but it never gets to the Power On status and cycle the climate controls.
This is what the app shows:

I've seen odd behaviour like this in the past, but eventually mine will work.

Last week, before I got 5.9.0, I had a double honk situation, the only thing I had done that was out of routine, was that I opened the Frunk then closed it, later in the afternoon, when I tried to remote start, she honked at me indicating a failed request. I went out and manually started the truck, since then no issues other than a few quicks with departure times.

Are your departure times also failing?

Try erasing all events in departure time and rebuild the rules.

Good question. Actually, given all the holidays parties and what not, I haven’t been departing at my normal time, so I really can’t say. But I will try to do what you said.
Also, I did access the frunk the day it stopped working (something I rarely do). I’ll open and close it to see if it makes a difference.
I do know that the front and rear parking sensors have been caked with snow/ice, but I doubt that has anything effect on that, right?
At any rate, let me try those things and I’ll report back.

We’re all having issues so I don’t see how sending you our VIN number and you telling us to set an appointment up is gonna help. Ford needs programmers and engineers working on this not dealerships

Not all. My remote start worked yesterday and this morning.

Are you implying not to expect erratic Behavior after the update? After all, what everyone is running is an update too

Since it finally got cold I found that when I turned on climate remotely it would turn the seats to cooling level 2. It would do this regardless of the remote start setup for the seats was on auto or off.

I updated the ford pass app to the latest before I called them.

I called Ford pass. They setup a appointment with a local dealer who sent a service man to my home (wow!). They said that AC module required an update. They did said update. I remote started climate, and I worked, once. JUST ONCE. It hasn't done a remote start since! I have tried numerous times...

So it seems that the AC module needs a better update.

Side note about the cooled / heated seat option on the Fordpass climate operation, it tends to remember that last used setting.

Your in TX where temps could swing quite a bit, some days you need heat other days you might want cooling, this happens to me early fall and late spring in New England.

Look at the Fordpass seat & steering wheel settings with each session of remote start, you might need to flip the switches one way or the other as conditions change.

In the meantime I hope your dealer gets the system operation properly soon.

There is an option in the truck to use the last setting or auto. Before the update it ignored it, always set to cooling level 2. The service guy and i went through all the options in the truck for these settings. It basically ignored all the settings in the truck.
