Based on the sample notice posted here they gave us a full year to get this done. I don’t see where anyone has a lot to legitimately complain about.
I agree if we have a YEAR then that is fine..but I did attempt to order the part through a Dealer in November and with the help of Ford Customer service they had the part shipped to the Dealer 4 days PRIOR to expiration. Then I Made the appointment BEFORE expiration of the CSP.. but because the work wasn't done (2 days after cancellation of CSP) they denied the work. Kinda Crazy.

BTW.. anyone know how much this thing would cost just to get it done (ball park)?

@Rjpear If memory serves, the BMS is a simple swap out. It is small box attached to the battery and can be easily removed and replaced.

That said, it is like a thirty minute service job if done at the service department. So should be more than $150 or so.

I paid about $30 when I did it myself, shipped from Tasca parts to my house.

I see the part is no longer available on Tasca (unless it has been replace by another part number?). I am looking for ML3Z-10C679-B ? Correct?

Yes, but Tasca put a retail sale block on the part after and a few other members bought them, this may still be in place, easiest thing is to go to your dealer parts counter and have them sell you one directly, now that the CSP has expired I see no reason to embargo retail sales, Tasca should release the hold as well.

"FUNNY STORY" about this subject CSP.
I attempted in November to get the part (the BSM) chip ordered though my local dealer. For whatever reason after 3 attempts (photo's etc..) they had no luck getting the chip. The Ford Social Media Team who monitor these forums PM'ed me for more info and within a week I had a real live Ford support guy call me. We connected and I explained. They generated a case number, contacted my dealer and on 01/02/25 they had Part in hand. They wanted to get me in on Friday (01/03/25) but could not make that work. So I had them schedule me for 01/07/25 (drop off 01/06/25 at night).
At approx 0900 the dealer calls me and wants to see if I have a case number because for EXPIRED the CSP for the BSM on 01/05/25 (SUNDAY). The back and forth between FORD and The DEALER resulted in NO CHIP FOR ME..after a few months of playing around and not having my Truck for the day. I did get updates done. I wouldn't be so upset if Ford would state that they were wrong about the Chip and it was something else that may cause problems. But all I get is an arbitrary "Expired CSP " 3 days after I made my Appointment.
Ford Social Media Support was awesome as well as their live support. Not sure why this was so complicated in the end.

After a few weeks he called me back and said they found a program to pay for the BSM swap. So today 02/7/25 my 23 Lightning is in the shop for the replacement.

I only bought my truck March 20, 2024…
That’s just great. I missed getting mine replaced. Who knew it expired..?? Will see what I can do to get the part# ML3Z-10C679-B
