That is old news, @JEB and I tested the Mongoose out extensively and the only corruption came from my end and was due to install issues which after running the tests in the J2534 Toolbox that came with the Mongoose did I get it fixed. The Mongoose is a far faster device then the Nano (and I have tested it) and no corruption at all! The Mongoose is the best option without having to spend over $1,000.I thought all the 'cheap' adapters only emulate J2534-2 by fragmenting packets or frames a certain way. It may be part of the problem. The ForScan developer wrote a lengthy post explaining this sometime ago. Unless someone buys a high quality full-chipped VCM 2 clone like an SP177-C (which are no longer made) or has an actual VCM 2 or VCM 3 at their disposal the experience is likely going to be more cumbersome when using low-end devices.
Livnitup mentioned he used his VCM 2 clone for FRDS updates and has not had any issues. I don't know what revision he's using. It's harder to find a good one because there's clones of clones all over the market... and lots of trash too.
