F-150 Lightning acceleration sound - like it or not?

They better make that configurable or I am ripping that speaker out regardless of what error message comes up to try and convince me otherwise. I bought a damn EV for a reason, I want it silent.

This is why I disconnected my Niro speaker. Sounded like a dump truck backing out of the garage and the driveway. I often leave at 3:30 AM and it woke up my wife and the dogs went crazy every time. Hopefully I won’t need to with the Lightning as long as it is some volume control etc.

It has an on and off switch. Super easy to control

Again, Ive had an electric car for years from the silent era before that law passed. No issues. Just go 10mph in parking lots like you have been your whole life and brake if you see somebody. Nobody is dying because they didnt hear some bullshit spaceship sound from a speaker.

The acceleration sound (which was the original thread context) has a control for it. The pedestrian warning sounds in forward and reverse (where people moved the thread to) do not.

One thing I am surprised is that no-one has offered downloadable propulsion sounds. It seems there would be a good market for that. Today I feel like driving the Jetson's car, tomorrow KITT, the day after - maybe a big block V8. I would pay a few bucks each for good ones!

I think that will come. I considered putting a bluetooth speaker loose in the frunk, and play those noises when at an EV event and someone walks by. Next to my bottle of V8.

For the exterior speaker, instead of unplugging it, wrap it in something to dampen the sound and make it less loud. No one can say anything if it is still there but very quiet

Yes unfortunately the backup beeps and forward "fake engine" external sounds from Ford (f-150 powerboost, assumed lightning) is not terribly creative - a little annoying how fake they are. Tesla and the examples in the above video have shown they can be both a bit more pleasant / fun as well as safe.
