This is a new version of the original FORScan thread. @TaxmanHog and I thought it would be good to have a post #1 that can be maintained going forward which was no longer possible with the original.

FORScan allows you to make modifications to certain module settings that change how they operate. The source of many mods is from FORScan guru @Livnitup. He has maintained spreadsheets with module information. You can find them on this thread. MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR ASBUILT DATA BEFORE MAKING CHANGES. SOME CHANGES WILL BE UPLOADED TO THE MOTORCRAFT SERVICES ASBUILT SITE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER THE ORIGINAL SETTINGS. ALSO BACKUP YOUR FORScan SETTINGS REGULARLY.

In the settings that follow, “x” means leave the value as is and “-“ is the checksum value that FORScan will re-calculate for you when you write the data. While all the settings can be done using As-Built Mode, some can be done with “Easy” mode. Both are shown where applicable. Post #2 gives links to equipment, tutorials, etc.

Global window open/close using keyfob:
only works on the front windows because one-touch is not enabled in the back windows.

To get started with FORScan you will need:
- A Windows laptop
- The FORScan for Windows software. For programming you can get a free Extended license for a 2-month trial. Instructions and download are at the link.
- A dongle to connect the laptop to your car’s OBD port. For programming the FORScan team recommends the following two wired dongles on their website:
* OBDLINK EX (OBDLINK Website, Amazon). I’ve used this one and it works great.
* Vgate vLinker FS (Amazon)
* You can also use a J2534 Pass-Thru adapter like the Mongoose.

Livinitup’s tutorial is highly recommended. It explains how to make back-ups, checksums, etc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-8dKaS_Spu4Zw4hV_CrKC4tLoP9G8yejqegF1wxIqxY/edit?tab=t.0

I enabled Glare Free lights and changed the DRL's from 10% to 100%. After making the changes people were regularly flashing their highbeams at me.

I can see the glare free lights working as expected but I think changing DRL's to 100% makes them too bright giving the impression I am not dimming my highbeams.

I changed the DRL's back to 10% and will test them this evening.

I didn't notice a difference at night between 10% or 100% when I did mine.

I didn’t either, but apparently, oncoming traffic seems to have noticed. If I still get highbeam flashes from oncoming traffic I will assume Glare Free is the culprit.

Thanks! I'll add the door ajar one (with edit for 24-hour clock). I already had the seat belt chime in there.

Thanks for explaining and not having to read 500+ post.

Can you give is an idea what the equipment cost and licensing after the intro 2 months period.

Will this also allow us to push BC 1.4 instead of waiting for the OTA update that will never come fast enough.
And for kicks, wil this get us our Tesla Adapter faster than others???

You can click on the links provided to see the cost of the OBD dongles. IIRC around $40-60. As for software, after the 2-month license expires you can request another. Currently the FORScan folks are unable to take CC payments from the US but again, you can always request another trial.

You can get BC 1.2+ by getting your IPMA and PSCM updated at the dealer. There are then FORScan changes that can then be made to enable In-Lane Positioning and Lane Change Assist. Those changes aren't being made public but if you read the BC 1.4 threads, you can find assistance.

But you have a 23 so should be getting the OTA. I think there is a holiday pause right now but maybe soon.

Thanks, sold the 23 pro. Have the 24 Flash. Ford is not interested in updating the BC 1.4 even with a paid subscription.

So Ford, who would go to the market and pay full price for a gallon of stale Milk when there is fresh Milk on the shelf right next to it.

Get off your butt's and push the update, at least to people who are paying for a subscription.

Hard to argue about the free Tesla charge adapter when we're not paying for it. But BC, we are paying for it.

The same thing happened to me when I increased DRLs to 50%. I then changed the DRLs back down to 25% and this seems to not piss off oncoming traffic while making my DRLs brighter for sunny daytimes.

I tested last night after setting the DRL's back to 10% and no one flashed their highbeams at me. Seems to have worked. I don't think the DRL's were blinding anyone, I think it gave the impression my highbeams were on and I wasn't dimming them.
