Yeah, I‘m considering doing the same depending of the state of Charge Pro deliveries at the time of my 6/10 Build delivery (mid July?????). I saw a post on the forum earlier this evening from one of those with an initial delivery of an ER Lariat. He is seeing an added range of 1.5-2 mi/hr using the supplied portable charger on a 20-amp 120v outlet…I couldn’t live with 21-28 miles/day range add too long after leaving the dealer with a fully charged battery. I expect paying for the electrian’s 2nd visit will eventually be a wash with buying at a public charging station depending on the Charge Station Pro delivery delay…..🧐
The bummer with this is you end up with either an extra junction box (likely a large one) that used to house the 14-50R outlet, or at best a few extra holes in your house that are hopefully covered by the charger.

I am doing this two step at my WA house. Near my ADU, I will install a small 125A outdoor panel, and run a whip (with #6 wire) to the 14-50R outlet for a 50amp charger in a quad JB, and use it for a parked RV in future. I will also add a quad JB for 120v outlets. I may eventually purchase a second FCSP, and run a 1" whip and connect that as well. Or I may wait until I move there and install it with the HIS on the opposite side of the house.

It helps that the ChargePoint Home Flex-NEMA 14-50 is available from the local utility for $200.

I checked the link…nice benefit. Wish Pacific Power provided some type of EV rebate around here. Moving away from income taxes when you retire?👍

It is a rental with an ADU we occasionally use, and may remain that way. If our kid has kids, or we need more/better healthcare we will move there ;)

The added costs of gas, sewer, electricity, and sales tax may make up for any income tax (Oregon does not tax social security). With 83 solar panels, and only paying for garbage service for many years now, it is hard to get over paying for utilities...

There's a 32 Amp EVSE packed with the truck, isn't there?

You can wire your 100 Amp circuit and use a 14-50 receptacle. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
It is worth noting the Kia EV6 comes with nothing at all. You need to buy a charger if you don't have one, period.

Tesla also (nowadays) does not ship a charger.

So, if we are going to throw around "no way to charge", we can at least do it with vehicles that, you know, actually ship with no way to charge.

I honestly wish that Ford would just let us figure out the charger ourselves -- but since they're including it, we can't prepare ahead of time. If I had to get my own charger, I would just buy one and have it installed before delivery.

I think the real reason that Sunrun is involved is I have a feeling they designed the chargers, and just slapped Ford's name on it.

Other 80amp chargers are much more expensive. They should have shipped the FCSP in the frunk.

@Ford Motor Company , Please take note that when you call SunRun you are talking to the “FORD TEAM” that’s specifically designated to see this project through. My advisor still has not contacted me after a FORD SUNRUN REP said he would contact me after he got off the phone.

Anyways, frustrated, I went to the SunRun site to see what I could find and guess what? It looks like I have an account and there were permits submitted on behalf of me for installation? WTH! I haven’t signed any paperwork, or have been given a quote. I suggest you guys who have been contacted by SunRun sign into their site, it’s just your phone number you have to use to sign in

No permits have been turned in. It's stated as "soon as you sign" then the permits will be submitted.

Except it’s checked off and says “complete” on the bottom. What does that say about FORD SunRun Reps?

It says the reps have your permits ready to go as soon as you sign an agreement. Your safe as long as you don't sign an agreement. I have not gotten a quote so my account did not have the same notice as you. Sunrun came and did a survey of my house and said they would get back to me in 7-10 days. That was four weeks ago and not heard anything! So I agree Ford made a big mistake partnering with Sunrun.

Well at this point I’ve already decided I am not letting them touch my current setup. What I am worried about now is not receiving the Pro Charger at all. I am hoping someone with more influence than me brings this to Fords attention and they move to the Canadian way of doing things.

I started a new thread on this but I will ask here again. Has SunRun reached out to anyone who has already taken delivery?
