After December 31, 2024: any Critical Minerals extracted, processed, or recycled by a "foreign entitiy of concern" eliminate the entire vehicle from eligibility regardless of domestic content
And there it is, don't know why i didn't see that exclusion before.

All of the other stipulations were laid out clearly.

Regardless, it is unlikely that it will make a big dent as we start the year, hopefully Ford will get approved for it again before the spring sales start.

Glad I didn't have to worry about tax credits and discounts to make my decision for me. Been here since the reservations, ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

The law is what needs to be changed to make them qualify, if congress does nothing and the percentage thresholds stand as defined, then Fords cautious stance likely won't change.

Just my humble opinion, subject to adjustment if the DOE evaluates the content makeup to still meet the 2025 goals, do we have stat's on exactly what that value is?

Reading between the lines here, since only the Critical Minerals criteria tightens for 2025 CY (from 50% to 60%) while the Battery Components criteria remained at 60% for both 2024 and 2025, if both $3,750 criteria are being lost, it is likely the "foreign entity of concern" exclusion for Critical Minerals that takes effect Jan 1 that disqualifies the entire vehicle.
Agreed, the "Foreign Entity of Concern" is the key

Since we know the battery qualified in 2024 CY, we know that it has a minimum of 60% North American components, that none of those components were made in China, and a minimum of 50% of the critical minerals were extracted and refined in the US or a free trade agreement country.

The law is clearly designed to create a self-sufficient domestic battery industry capable of making the entire value chain of the battery, hence the gradual ratcheting up of requirements. Nothing stops someone importing a battery (or an entire car) but they don't get the purchase credit.

So now I've got a week to find a Lariat that isn't Oxford White or Black which has Max Tow/Pro Power but also no charger or other addons so it qualifies for the $7500. Should be easy lol.
Good luck, I have been looking for the same. Was close to finding two of them but they added the spray in bed to bring it less than $100 over. I think that was dumb on their part.

Yeah that's been my struggle for the past couple of months. Found an Avalanche Lariat the other day that was $40 over the threshold. :cautious:

Avalanche is the color I am looking for also. I guess I have to decide if I want ProPower or Sunroof.(yes I know there are more differences, but those are the two main things that I am looking for)

The law requires adjustment if Ford wants to continue to enjoy the credits, given the changing dynamics of our economy which has impacted Fords timelines for bringing the Mi, Ky & Tn battery plants online, they should have been lobbying for adjustments to it.

That's the laws intent. But the current administrations directive to ignore the laws intent on leases makes it pretty much moot.

I would disagree slightly in that Ford should have quit lolly gagging around testing the waters and just led. They had a plan, Blue Oval should be built by now. They apparently had a truck design (T3) and I would have thought they would have had a battery to go along with with it. They could have been a leader. They could be qualifying for these rebates easily had they just acted. However they didn't and I truly don't care if they ever make another EV.

They have a design. Launch keeps getting pushed back for budget reasons. I also heard a rumor that they are engineering a power train into it like the Ramcharger.

The projected sales and revenue they anticipated and invested enhancements of REVC substantially affected the fiscal plans, unlike our congress that spends money like drunken sailors, the controllers and decision makers at Ford made choices they could tolerate without bankrupting the company.

We are excluding the Destination Charges from total sticker, right?

ALSO, anything the dealer added , if not on the original Manufacturer Sticker is excluded, as well.

I"m still pissed that I didn't qualify for ANY tax credit for my purchase as my MSRP was well above the 80K cutoff. Why is/was there a cutoff anyway? It's all BS.
