As I heard Farley say in a recent interview something to the effect of "Ford has been around for many many administration changes".

My summation: They are not dumb, they know they need to play both sides of the aisle. Smart Business.
Agree, however this is 4x (+ cars) what they donated for the 2020 Inauguration.

There is a sarcastic retort about inflation just laying there, but I'll leave it lay. 😉

...but in all seriousness. Yes that does surprise me it would be that much more.

Toyota did the same amount. It’s cheap publicity.

In order to sit at the table, you have to kiss the ring.
Reminds me of this scene:

You don't have to kiss the ring if you know where the pain points are. But if you do, the kissing won't stop at the ring.

sw engineering manager,
It should be illegal. Corporate America buying politicians right out in the open.

Doesn't the Constitution have some Emoluments clause that forbids this kind of blatant bribery/ extortion?

True but does that make it any less bad? The main reason Ford or any business spend the money this way instead of spending it on their core business is that screwing over the customer or competition legally is cheaper than making a better product.

...and ain't nothing we can do about it. Ford's agenda is pretty innocent. Compare that with military industrial complex lobby...
