Coming up to my 3rd winter with the Lightning and I’m looking for a solution that will keep lettuce (and other items) from freezing in the frunk on very cold days.

Anyone tried a low wattage space heater and have any recommendations on model?

Remember the wattage is reduced when the truck is started. A 100 watt old fashion light bulb in a ice chest?

Place the sensitive goods in the cabin, other items in the frunk.

You might try removing the bottom cover in the frunk and measure the temperature after a drive. I've noticed that lower area gets fairly warm since it has an open drain to the area below - the components below give off a fair amount of heat.

Sounds like a good way to start a fire.

Seed heaters are very cheap on Amazon and come with a digital thermostat. I use this one to keep our off grid bank of LifeP04s from getting too cold during prolonged sub zero cold snaps.

Plus the idea is to have a thermostat so there is temperature control.

The seed heater looks like it could be a good solution. Will look into that one further thanks.

Ice chest, maybe throw a hot water bottle in with it. Also some of the coolers with compressors can do some heat.
I have one that works really well but I was a bit disappointed it was too tall (by very small amount) for the Frunk to close so I have to leave it in the bed. For those looking, mine is about 18" tall so it would need to be about an inch shorter to fit in the Frunk.

Pipe heating cables that keep waterlines from freezing. They have a temperature controller trying to keep the temp around 40 degrees. If you don't want power, I've had good luck using a cooler without ice in it to keeping things from freezing. If you want better control, swap out the PID temp controller, but that'll get expensive fast.

Oh! For my dog, I put a 12V heating pad in the truck. There are pads made specific for dogs/cats. My dog loves it and lays right on it. But I don't know that it puts out enough heat to keep anything warm that isn't in direct contact with the pad.

THIS. If all you need is to keep the lettuce from freezing, an insulated cooler should do the trick. K.I.S.S.
Nope. I want temperature control. Cooler is for my frozen stuff. Plenty of other use cases for keeping frunk warm including keeping ski boots above freezing etc etc.
