Instrument cluster doesn't turn on? Help

Anyone encounter this?

Drove kids to school, everything was fine. Took daughter inside, came back out and got into truck, and my instrument cluster didn't turn on.

Pulled over, parked, turned truck off, got out so it locked. stood there in the snow for a couple mins, then got back in. Still nothing.


Anyone have this happen?

Yep, happened to me once, and there have been a couple of threads on it. I think there was some fuse you could pull to reset something but I can't recall exactly. Fixes itself after a while. Annoying driving without a speedometer. I have an OBD dongle connected so I can show the speed on the centre display using Car Scanner via CarPlay, but it's certainly not ideal.

Happened to me once after I remotely started the cabin heat, then got into truck and turned it on. Less than a minute after I left the driveway, it went dark. Drove back and used my ICE. Next time I turned it on, it was fine. Now I make sure I turn off the heat before I turn on the truck, in case the two are somehow related.

It's happened once or twice in the 2.5 years I've had my Lightning, with time it's self resolved.

What was your last update on the software updates screen?

Thanks, I will take a look at that fuse thread. I did do a search for "instrument cluster" and didn't see the one you showed here

It's rare but has been reported before. I think one guy needed a new screen.

Happened to me last week, resolved itself in a couple of hours, has not happened again.

Happened to me about six months ago. Occurred twice in two days and hasn’t recurred since. I assumed that it was a software glitch.

Happened to me last week. Remote started climate, went out and blank screen. Drove about 40 minutes, got home, left it alone in driveway for about 2 hours, all back to normal. This needs to get fixed, it’s dangerous

I had that problem maybe 2 times what I did is turned the truck off and then turned it back on and that worked maybe try disconnecting the 12 volt battery and then connect it to reboot !

Lucky number Fuse 13 in the passenger side fuse box. Careful, several people have accidentally dropped it and it was eaten up by a hole nearby. I think there's a spare but I forget the number. This resolved it for me. Only had it once in 2 years thus far.

Yeah happened to me once. I hopped onto the forums and read about fuse 13 so I pulled and reseated it and everything has been fine since.
