It is normal for the underside of the hood to not match. The paint is a three coat process. First a grey electrocoat then a primer and finally the top coat. The top coat is typically not sprayed onto all interior surfaces such as under the hood.My truck is ice metallic blue, but the underside of the hood is painted white. I've never seen that before on any other vehicle I have owned.
Oh, and bluecruise 1.0 is getting old.
It depends on the color it appears. My carbonized grey matches. Or maybe the carbonized grey is actually a primer with a clear coatIt is normal for the underside of the hood to not match. Yes, they have 3 or 4 colors of primer and they use the one closest to the top coat. After 30 years of IT engineering in Ford assembly plants I am quite familiar with the process. It depends on the color it appears. My carbonized grey matches.
