I have a 2022 Lightning Lariat with the extended battery. I have never had a charging issue until the past week. I have set the max. charge at 90% and it has always charged without issue. Recently the charger has turned off prior to reaching 90%. I have four chargers (I have two EVs) at two different locations and the trucks behavior is the same on all. What was really odd is that for a while, as soon as I opened the driver door, the charger would turn on and the blue rings at the charge port would start pulsating. It would charge for 10 minutes or so and then shut down. I could also get it to work for a few minutes by unplugging and plugging in the charger but today it will not charge at all. I have an 82% charge so getting it to my Ford dealer isn't a problem. I did have a major software update a few weeks ago but this did not start happening until this past week. Has anyone had anything similar occur?

Try a level 3, we had one truck refusing to level 2 charge but it corrected when warmed up - I put it down to ice/moisture in port.

Otherwise dealer visit potentially faulty port - would also try hard reboot (12v disconnect) - no logical reason other then it’s a big computer and 1st rule of tech support…

I am in California with temps in the low 60s. I forgot to mention that my FordPass app shows that it is charging when the charger has shut down and the light ring at the charge port is not lit. Even now when the charger is unplugged, the app shows that it is charging and has an estimated time to complete charge.

That's odd, usually a fully functioning and authorized data sharing permission should be sending you charging alerts and status changes.

Vote for 12v reset and confirm your connected services are properly set.

Could also be a location issue, sometimes resetting your charge locations will fix the gremlins. There have also been a couple reports of charge controller failures in the truck where it will only work on dcfc.

Deleting and re-establishing locations has fixed similar issues in the past. I'll second that.

It could be as simple as a communication disruption due to dirty pins. If you are having problems with more than one EVSE, try cleaning all 5 charge port pins. I use a qtip with rubbing alcohol to polish them up. Make sure you use a solvent with no residual film.

I currently have two separate locations set (one is a Ford Pro charger with a 100 amp circuit) and the other is a Charge Point Level 2 charger (50 amp circuit). I will delete and set up the locations again and see what happens.

The app for the Charge Point charger lets me know that charging is completed by sending me a notification that "the vehicle is drawing little power and may be fully charged". I now get this notification when the truck has not reached its 90% setting. Any ideas what that may be indicating?

I will also try cleaning the pins as you have suggested.

I called my Ford dealership and they were able to take my Lightning in right away. I dropped it off this afternoon. I am hopeful that the fix is quick and easy but that is likely too much to hope for.

Great they were able to get you in quickly. Let us know what the ultimate fix is for your case.
