Francis chargers are awful. The 200kW Francis charger in Enid has been down for well over a year and most of the towns around me that have chargers are 50kW or the cable coolers are broken so they only charge at 33kW. So bad.
They are definitely going down hill. They took govt money and I get that they likely don't have a lot of income off the chargers, but they have to keep them up. The one in Shawnee has been offline since the tornado last March. In Davis - it is still hit or miss. I do have one that seems to be consistent or at least I can keep moving until 1 of the 4 works.

Even if it turns out to be a bit slower to use Tesla chargers with the adapter, I welcome it for the following:

- There are many more of them. Both in locations, and quantity per location. In a stop I use often EA has 6 (with 2 usually broken) and Tesla has 50!

- They are likely functional, unlike many others. With EA, even if a charger is listed as working it can still fail to work, although this apparent incompatibility seems to have gotten better recently.

- Using either FordPass or the Tesla app has got to be faster than waiting for the EA charger to connect (or not)...

I just hope that Tesla does not up-charge FordPass users so they end up paying more than they would using EA. And if so, I hope they have a Pass+ like option for a discount.

Tesla' s prices are generally higher and they have a $12.99 monthly discount plan.

Oregon now has one Magic Doc Tesla Supercharger on I-84 in Boardman that I charged at over Christmas. It charged $0.33 a kw, with no monthly subscription. It could be a special introductory rate. 20 miles to the east I normally charge at the EA charger near Hermiston, which is $0.42 a kw with the $7 monthly subscription.

That Tesla charger in Boardman was .28 a few months ago when I used it. It's a great option out there especially when the EA at Hermiston has been completely down on a few occasions I've needed it.

I just moved to San Antonio and the roads are so bad that I traded my Model 3 performance in on a used (7k miles) 2023 Lightning Lariat with the big battery. I paid $64K and feel I got a good deal. I have to say for being in the top 10 largest cities San Antonio is the worst city for charging EVs. I live in converse and had to drive 10 miles to an EA charger and wait in line. I checked while I was waiting and the next closes charger was 28 miles away. The longest drive i will make normally is to Austin and I think if I charge to 100% I can go there and back. So I am not in a hurry for this adapter issue to get resolved but I do think it will happen in Feb.

San Antonio has always lagged behind when it comes to installing EV chargers but it’s a lot better than it used to be. I only use the fast chargers when I’m traveling and I usually charge from a 208V charger at home. Do you have the option to charge at home?

Now you know why folks in Texas buy more trucks than any other state. We have the worst roads! 😂

Yes I charge from a 14-50 plug that I installed so I really don't charge at public charging much.

Does anyone know if these supercharger adapters will do double duty as an adapter for level 2 charging at Tesla destination charger as well? I’m guessing likely not since they’re connecting to our DC pins 🤔

They explicitly say they will not work for Level 2 AC charging. You will need a separate AC adapter (that A2Z also sells).
