According to Cars.com, 7 new 2022 Lightnings are for sale. Wasn't that the year people were paying stupid money above MSRP to get one?
Is anybody else shocked by this? Or do I just need get out more?

Not surprised, are these 7 trucks leftovers from markets with low EV interest?

Likely stale listings. I’d check the dealers actual website to confirm they exist.

How do you know they are demos? Mileage? I saw one of them said "In-Service FCTP." Yeah, that's a demo.
This is the one I looked at. It reportedly has 110 miles. https://www.familyfordinc.net/new/F...ightning-ec150a9b0a0e087f0db8dbb60b473333.htm
I'm curious why it hasn't sold.
Maybe because it is a standard range? Also, what is the true value of the truck now that it is essentially three model years old? (Yes, I realize that the 2025 Lightnings are not out yet, but other 2025 Ford models are starting to hit ground at dealers).

In at least one of those cases (the one with 22800 miles) I'm not sure how they are saying it's still new.

And one of them was damaged during transit and had to be repaired.

I think if I were shopping I'd go for the Atlas Blue with only 4k miles on it. (-G01577 I believe is the one).

The last one in the list says the warranty start date was 5 Aug 22. That's gonna be interesting to see how that works out.

You get an extended warranty with a demo. It's only 42 months though so you've definitely lost some time now if you are buying a 2022.

A 2022 demo shouldn't have any option deletes and any issues that might have cropped up have already been dealt with. I bought a demo in 2022 and have been nothing but happy with it. For the right price I'd consider one if I were in the market now.

My big worry would be how they have been kept. I seriously doubt someone has put the effort in to keep the battery in its happy place. Three years of sitting at "100%" may have had a significant effect on the battery

And if it was on the FCTP program your BlueCruise subscription started the day that warranty start date happened as well. So you do lose that time.

There were a few in the list that have had all the recalls performed, so somebody's been keeping up with them....but there are others in that list that fit the worst case scenario you're talking about, all recalls still open, and at least one of them had a 12V battery somewhere around 28% :p

So yeah, YMMV...literally.

Stock order placed by the FoMoCO on behalf of the dealers have order code F001 and the window stickers are with blue colored borders.

Keep in mind that a demo may or may not be considered new depending on if they titled it or not. If I recall correctly, it is based on your state laws/requirements if the dealer titles them or not when they are a demo. I got my leftover, untitled 22 a year ago and it was eligible for the tax credit. Back then it wasn't the instant POS credit, so it may be easier to figure out at the dealer now.,

The warranty starts when they are put in service like others have mentioned. That also includes bluecruise, Alexa, navigation and any other services included with the truck.

Many dealers put these on the FCTP program. When that happens the warranty start date is established, and Ford reports this as a "sale" for the purposes of their accounting. A LOT of vehicles are put on the FCTP program, and in fact there are some dealerships that have MOST of their floorplan on FCTP.

So when the first actual customer takes home that formerly FCTP program vehicle they may not be aware that although they got a bumper-to-bumper warranty extension, their subscriptions did not get extended by the same amount. That's the case for my 23 MME. In fact it really sucked, because I was forced to wait 60 days to trade in my '21 model for the '23 model because they couldn't take it off the FCTP program until that clock had run out.
