The new replacement adapter on the right is not made by Tesla. Made by Lectron.

I was not part of the free adapter crowd, which is fine; I had a road trip coming up and it seemed like a toss-up between A2Z and Lectron. I went with Lectron about 3 weeks before Ford announced the new adapters (which, for the record, always show on their website as sold out) and paid about $200 for it and it’s worked flawlessly. If I ever have a problem, I’d love for Ford to tell me that their logo emblazoned on the side of a Lectron adapter somehow would have made a difference in outcome.

Is it though? Everything I’ve seen leads me to believe that it’s a rebranded Lectron adapter. Always happy to admit when I’m wrong, but what’s different between the two?

Ford had them make a few tweaks to the existing design. @tommolog did a good comparison

I am part of the "Free" adapter crowd, in fact real new to EV with my 2923 Lightening. I have been in a waiting list since August, 2024 and it looks like at least 4-5 more months before I receive my adapter. Ford says it might void my warranty if I buy something else. It's really caused me not to be able to use my truck as lack of non Tesla charging stations. Is there an approved adapter that I can order?
Thanks
Rockwell

How advanced are the 2923 model year trucks? Lots of improvements I imagine :)

Sorry, I could not resist. And I am a little jealous. I mean I thought I was an early adopter but I guess not :)

Where did you get your adapter? Is anyone selling their old?

I have the Lectron one, but at a recent stop I found that some of the newer fast Tesla chargers (250 KW) have built-in adapters. It's not obvious - you have to push the connector up into the charger to release it.
