Yup. Had a Jeep Wagoneer which caught fire from an electrical short.
Had a Ford Crown Vic with a recall on the ignition switch causing fires. ICE cars aren't immune, but oh that media lovea to buzz and gossip!

I wonder how many barn fires were attributed to those new-fangled contraptions back when the automobile was introduced.

We actually did a study on the effects on aged LMO (Volt) cells compared to fresh cells...you should be able to find the paper. We did 'safety' (all the things manufacturers tell you not to do, we do them) testing on fresh cells and then several years later, we took the cycle life and calendar life cells and subjected them to the same overcharge tests. I would suspect the same would apply to LFP and NMC cells. Sorry that I'm not allowed to link to the actual paper in this forum, but look for EssEs (Energy Storage Systems and Evolution of Safety).

My 2022 Lightning is at the dealership now for replacement of one HV battery module as part of the 23H01 "customer service" program. My truck is new enough that the age of different modules may not matter much. However, if a HV battery assembly has several years of age, or has been driven many miles and thus recharged many times, can a single battery module safely be replaced? It seems the old and new battery modules would charge and discharge at different rates, and thus create an imbalance. MickeyAO, what do you think?

Looks to be a Platinum Lightning from the rims.

Strange - how the rims looks like a Platinum but the grill is not.

Possible that it was a ICE or hybrid truck with rims that are similar to the Platinum rims ??

Do GM trucks take the same wheels as the Lightning ?

This definitely in my mind is a Lightning; it’s a truck with a frunk and Platinum wheels. The grill looking structure may just be what the bumper looks like after the front plastic has been burned off.

I disassembled my whole front end to install Radar and Wiring Harness for Adaptive Cruise - nothing resembles anything close to 'that' Jeep-looking 'grill' piece... very strange...

I think it's the inner skeleton of the frunk 'grille'.

It looks like it’s a Lightning but the Tesla is still plugged in and the charging port on the Lightning even looks like still closed. The grill on the ground is a total mystery……
