Should I remove Max Trailer Tow package tow to qualify for the EV credit?

Looks like the new tax credit law was signed yesterday, I just saw Alex on Auto’s video over the matter. I have a production build date of 9/5/2022 on a 80,889$ Lariat ER- does it make sense to remove max trailer tow to qualify for the EV credit? I’m also over the income cap but I heard that portion doesn’t go into effect until Jan 1st 2023, is this correct?? ‍

No. Because the $80k limit doesn't kick in until 1-1-2023.

As long as your truck is delivered before the end of the year AND made in the USA (which of course the Lightning is), you are good to go.

No income caps or price caps apply.

I thought the credit was based solely on base msrp and adding packages like max towing don’t affect eligibility. Your sales person should know this inside and out. Let us know if this isn’t true.

This is an old thread, but your understanding is not correct. The IRS MSRP is sticker minus destination and delivery. A $500 Ford Mobile on the sticker counts, as do other options. It doesn't matter how much you finally paid for the vehicle, either.
