I'd suggest running the app while charging with the Emporia charger. If it does that up and down, then switch to the Ford Mobile Charger and see if it does it.

I don't believe you can say "it isn't the charger" at this point.

I tried the Ford charger. While I don't have a current monitor yet on my 14-50 outlet, the time the truck was saying I would reach my target charge level increased.

I can't prove it yet, but I'm convinced one of the AC chargers on the truck is bad. When I get back from my trip I'll probably let the dealer figure it out.

Of course it says longer, it's 30amps and you're using a 48amp charger.

You will likely find the dealer doesn't have an outlet to test your Ford charger, and if they have chargers they will be less than 48amps.

If it does it again tonight when I plug in I will open my panel and put an ammeter on my 14-50 circuit with the mobile charger plugged in. I'm convinced it's not the hardwired charger.

Have you tried to do a master reset on the truck?

My Emporia (hardwired) gives a consistent 11kW output after a couple of minutes from start and then tapers down after reaching 90%.

It's never had an issue with 2 different EVs it charges - even in 110+ degree temps.

I don't plug in every day. Here are the 3 previous charges before last night. No problems.

Looks like it's working correctly now ?

I only charge once a week and charge to 100%.

It was working fine until last night after the first time I tried to charge it. I guess we'll find out tonight when I get home whether it's the Emporia EVSE, the onboard charger in the truck out it charges fine again.

Have you tried using the Ford mobile charge cord ?

Yes. And the target time to reach my desired charge level gets longer. That tells me that the 32 amp mobile EVSE is providing less than the 24 amps the Emporia app is reporting.

The common denominator is the truck. I just haven't proved it yet by putting an ammeter on the circuit I'm feeding the mobile EVSE with.

My thinking is, it's pulling half the amperage that is available to it and the ER trucks have dual onboard chargers, therefore half the amperage would point to one charger not working or working intermittently.

FWIW, if you use TorquePro or CarScanner to assist with your analysis, to date I’ve been unable to ID the PIDs for both of the Lightning’s 40A onboard chargers. This mystery has also been reported by others on the forum it appears to be an issue because Ford used the Mach-E PIDs as a template, and as such, I have only been able to document the Amps Requested and Amps Delivered to one of the chargers (not sure which one) using the CarScanner iApp. I only know the total amps delivered to my truck is averaging 71-72A @ 240V/80A by math ([kW Delivered/V Delivered]*1000)

Well, I'll admit it. I was wrong. I was positive it was the truck. I guess I gave Emporia the benefit of the doubt instead of Ford. The mobile charger is pulling 30 amps. I've contacted Emporia on a solution and will report back when I have a resolution.
