Though us plebes in the lower trims have a not so cool sound as the Plati's, sometimes ours also goes astray, no idea why but it eventually comes back, likely a boot-up error during start. The cool start up and shut down sounds stopped playing on my truck. I didn’t notice it until 1 day they started playing again randomly. But then stopped again. What’s that all about? Is there a setting?
I'm pretty sure they're the same sounds. Sounds like other Ford and Lincoln vehicles I've been in.Though us plebes in the lower trims have a not so cool sound as the Plati's, sometimes ours also goes astray, no idea why but it eventually comes back, likely a boot-up error during start.
Have you listened to the startup sound in a non platinum?I'm pretty sure they're the same sounds. Sounds like other Ford and Lincoln vehicles I've been in.
I've only test driven a Lariat and I wasn't paying attention to the noises. To my ear my truck sounds like a Ford but I've never paid close attention I suppose.Have you listened to the startup sound in a non platinum?
The couple times I rode in the platinum , it had a distinctly different tone / melody than my Lariat-ER
In my platinum, i get 3 different sounds at varying times when starting. I usually get a startup tone that sounds distinctly different than the high pitched do-da-do, then, sometimes I get a completely different sound like a wha-paaa sound like a wind up and a slap on a snare drum.Have you listened to the startup sound in a non platinum?

I think that was a video showing how to program keysI do not own a Platinum so there may indeed be a special startup sound. However for most trucks, there is no start-up sound. There IS a 4-chime sequence that plays if you start your truck with the seat belt unbuckled.
That 4-chime sequence will not play if you press start with your seat belt buckled.
Secondly, sometimes the seat belt chime plays from the puny Instrument Cluster speaker ("not cool" sound) and sometimes it plays over the audio system ("cool" sound).
Here is a video cued up to a spot where you can hear all of this. The first time he starts, the seat belt chimes play from the puny instrument cluster speaker. A few seconds later he starts the truck again and the chime plays over the nicer stereo system.
For those interested, the unbuckled seat belt warning depends on region. In the US, it chimes at truck start. In Europe, it chimes once you are driving. This can be changed in FORScan.
Yeah I know that, but the sounds are because he is starting the truck without a seat belt. Sounds have nothing to do with programming keys.I think that was a video showing how to program keys
Yeah. Those are the not cool sounds. Mine once in a while plays cool sounds. I guess through the speakers. 12v battery checks out. But I think that’s the problem. Dealer has been no help. I have videos of the cool sounds but can post hereYeah I know that, but the sounds are because he is starting the truck without a seat belt. Has nothing to do with programming keys.
It's just a good example of the sounds the truck makes when you start it.
You can post to YouTube and include the link. Us lowly Lariats need to know what we're missing.Yeah. Those are the not cool sounds. Mine once in a while plays cool sounds.
