No, but if it was in Sport when you turned it off, you should get asked if you want to stay in sport the next time you start. You have to press “OK” before the message goes away. It’s a pain.Hello friends
I like to drive in SPORT mode.
I do not like having to put it into SPORT mode every time I start the truck.
Is there a way to keep it in SPORT as a default setting?
Welcome to the party. We've been asking for this for years. Fords software devision thought that meant we want Karaoke. So every time you don't make it in time to press okay, just sing along the curse song like the rest of us do.Hello friends

Unfortunately, due to regulations regarding the traction control system you have to select it every time or push ok to stay in a different mode than normal.
The problem arose when the possibility that someone could inadvertently remain in off-road mode with no TC after a shutdown cycle.
Try 1 pedal mode for easy regen if that's what you like about sport mode.
There are a few users that really want sport all the time but it's just not going to happen.
I find I can easily smoke anyone in normal mode so sport is just a plaything for me.

It apparently worked initially but the government didn't like that it could be left in off-road mode permanently. Instead of just requiring off-road mode to be selected each time they just made it where the setting didn't stick for any of them.I don’t think it’s a safety issue. I think it’s a Ford issue.
Yeah, I heard the reason was about it accidentally being left in off road by someone.... I wonder how we all survived in the old days when things were all manual and things were as you left them every time you started your car. I know it's crazy we all lived.Unfortunately, due to regulations regarding the traction control system you have to select it every time or push ok to stay in a different mode than normal.

I don't know if your truck is any different than mine but when starting up my truck, I get about 5 to 10 seconds of fancy ford animations as it boots up, another 5 to 10 seconds of it trying to connect to my phone and launch car play. Then I can press the truck button which takes a few seconds to get to the option screen because it's slow and still booting up, and then a couple more seconds after you press the mode button. As I said, I dealt with it for a while doing exactly as you said but I started hating my truck as I was becoming a slave to it. Now that I leave it in normal and can start my truck and go, and not being stressed about missing the okay so I don't have to wait 30 seconds to get me in my preferred drive mode, I am enjoying my truck much better. Pretty sad, if you ask me.If you miss the OK prompt to stay in Sport, it's only two taps to happiness, Settings > Sport
Oh, he has been plenty vocal on his dislike of this situation. LOLIf you are okay with it, that's great for you... A lot of us are not, and we would like it fixed.
It wasn't "initially" it was a random software update that had a bug where if you changed modes it stayed in that mode even following a shut down. Because this allows you to stay in off-road mode with traction control off, it was fixed. We need an option that specifically lets us stay in sport. It apparently worked initially but the government didn't like that it could be left in off-road mode permanently.
