Who knows, Ford marketing may take notice and get the powertrain controls team to work up an accessory mod to convert Lightnings, since the owner/aftermarket is well out in front of this at this point.
I would rather had gone down that route, but I'm guessing the mothership would want to put in the proper button in the center or a blue lightning bolt instead of the standard M/L/S so now the shifter is a unique part number along with the tub and I'm guessing theres not enough interest beyond a few nut jobs on this forum to warrant an official aftermarket product.

I don't see any reason it wouldn't be compatible. It looks to me like the knob is the only difference. But that's without connecting one up to confirm it.

One thing I'm curious about is that when you have to replace the GSM it requires a PMI to get the correct strategy files (according to the shop manual), so I'm curious to see if there are any DTCs thrown after swapping in any of the rotary shifters and if a strategy update may need to be applied to keep any DTCs from appearing. I'm certain it's doable, I just haven't explored that yet since I'm waiting on my bin to arrive (sometime in April). Pretty sure @Jesse-Infotainment could help us there though.

I designed this version and I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have!
Thank you very much for sharing this !

I have another question...
What is the purpose of the little "step-down" at the back and the three different holes ?

i.e. can any of them be deleted if Im not doing a charger and/or the storage containers?

Can you imagine the number of Zoom meetings, engineering studies, manufacturing cost estimates, marketing research studies, and test protocols it would take to do this?

Good Lawd Man! It's just not as simple as unplugging one module and plugging in another to see what happens...or is it?

I don't think any of the rotaries actually move at all mechanically. As you say, it just changes to "park" digitally, so-to-speak.
Just FYI, the rotary knob I used (the one identified in the Thingiverse BoM) does physically rotate from whatever gear you're in to "P". Of course its all removed from any drivetrain mechanics, but it does move which I appreciate for extra peace of mind.

I just ordered a used shifter on ebay for a 21 Bronco Sport (model LX6P-7P155-LE). I like the look of the dial on this shifter better than the chrome escape/bronco version. Connector and shape appears to be the same as Op's and the only difference in part numbers is the last 2 (le vs eh). I also ran across the post below where someone hooked up a F150 electronic shifter to the 21 bronco sport and it worked. I am attempting to print it out on my Bambu P1S with Sunlu black ASA and have around 12 hours to go. I am using the model posted earlier at an angle for smaller printers. Attempted yesterday, but the model toppled over with about an hour left on the 12 hour print. Painted on a lot more supports, so maybe this one will complete.

I will point out that some of the Bronco sport shifters have a different shape on the back and have a bump in front of the shifter at the base. The one I picked looks identical to op's other than the rubberized dial.

A change from the rotary shifter. | Ford Bronco Sport Forum

Good question. The little step down was a requirement for my particular use to allow for enough depth for the wireless charger to engage and charge my iPhone 15 Pro. It really serves no other purpose and my solution to make the design more universal was to design and include a "TPU matt" piece that covers that depression and extends all the way to the shift box. That matt is called "TPUMat_Full" on Thingiverse, FYI.

As for the three holes you circled, I would say non are truly necessary, although the one on the bottom of the console was present in my reference design and allows you to visually align the console to an existing OEM plastic post that sits between the front bolt holes. The two holes on the back face (what would be "firewall" facing) are for USB accessories. The top is a dumb passthrough to accommodate anything you wanted to pass into the void, or into another console (I passed a separate USB into the frontmost console; the one with the sliding top). The bottom one is for the panel mount USB pigtail I included in the BoM. Both can certainly be deleted/covered over if you have no use for USB in the console.

P.S. Huge thanks to @Drayday55 and someone else from the forum (not sure of their username here, and not trying to dox anyone) for adding to my beer fund via the Thingiverse tip jar. My cup runeth over guys ... it seriously means a lot to me and really keeps me motivated to keep drinking and making things  .

As folks start installing these, I think the community would be curious to know:

1) the exact part number and what it was from (Bronco Sport, Escape, Mach-E, etc.)
2) does it have ambient light at night and if so, what color (blue, red, etc.)
3) when you turn off truck, does knob physically move
4) what DTC's did you get after installation (use an OBD reader or a dongle with Car Scanner - make sure to clear or note current DTC's first)

For instance, the eBay listing Mike posted above has a sticker that says "NO AMBIENT". Others might have a color other than blue (which I consider a match for our trucks). I know the Mach-E doesn't rotate on its own - I consider that a positive since it's another moving part to fail).

Can someone remix this to add a slight angle to the rotary dial? I'm interested, but nervous about a flat mount where water or beverages can pool. Doesn't need to be extreme, just enough to prevent water from pooling around it.

Are there any issues with the fold flat console lid hitting the shifter?
