Just went in and attempted to update the truck. The only modules that had available updates were the Gateway module and the APIM. Unfortunately the update for the APIM wasn't the newest that Ford described in the email. I believe I read the APIM software revision was 600.

How can you check which software version you are running?

Meanwhile my navigation / GPS doesn't keep the location which renders any gps dependent function useless. Can't set charge locations because it always thinks I'm somewhere else, can't use the onboard gos for charging locations.

Android Auto works during the first power cycle after setup... I.e. factory reset everything, set up AA, phone integration, PAAK, all of it and it's great... Get out of the car, come back an hour later and it refuses to connect to as wirelessly...

But fear not, the dealership can "look at it" in mid January. 🙄

Seeing the Alexa icon made me realize that Ford doesn't care enough about what we think or the problems we are having. They are going to do what they want, how they want and when they want. Their customers be damned.

This is a problem tied to how our phones handle wifi, it's not a Ford problem, they can't affect how we operate our phones, though I would ask the AA developers to program a routine that when the phone is in strong BT range that it toggle the mobile wifi briefly, to allow the phone to acquire the truck CP/AA projection SSID, this would improve the wireless connection experience.

I do it manually when leaving the house (toggle the phone wifi) and AA connects wirelessly without a hiccup 90+% of the time. I also prevent my home network from auto reconnects as well, which helps.

Ford doesn't have a long history with updates and notifications, but my gut says it could be a long time before we actaully see these updates.

There is a new Gateway and APIM update for the trucks already sitting waiting for most of us and haven't been truly updated. Those that have say they can't find a difference in those versions. I would think they need to get those applied and updated before we see the release they are telling us about in emails.

Ford has a great opportunity here to make these OTA updates shine, but many of us already have a simple update that is failing to install on a daily basis as it is. They really need to get this right.

After waiting the weekend since I did the last APIM update it was pleasanty surprised to see another update for the APIM this evening. The update was a big one, coming in over at over 6GB in total. I have included some photos of the new layout. My opinion on the new layout: I like it! The fonts and logos seem more refined. When you press the camera button it looks like the images are more clear too.

I still would prefer NO Alexa icon. You hear that Ford?
