@Ford Motor Company is clearly having a problem dealing with shipping / delivery. If there does exist Michigan law that prohibits customers from taking delivery directly from them or dealer contracts they need to be working overtime with the MI Legislature / legal to remove this prohibition - help us help you. For all I know my truck, off the assembly line for two months may spend two more in shipping purgatory. As rates keep climbing I find myself questioning this purchase more and more.

Nobody is forcing you to buy it.
That's a ridiculous statement. All I want is for Ford to communicate the real reason my truck is in Limbo when others are being delivered after mine was produced. I guess when you buy an $81,000 truck you wait like a little boy until your truck arrives and don't question anything.

I said it earlier up-thread...

Just 10 years ago, you simply wouldn't be told anything about your order and "you'll-get-it-when-you-get-it". Ford never promised you that you'd get it within <x> days of order, or <y> days of build schedule week. They told you that you were getting a MY'22 truck, and MY'22 runs until October.

You're getting angry because Ford gave you more visibility to manufacturing processes than ever before -- ones that are not well-understood by most people on the planet -- and you have built some sort of expectation in your mind as to when you should have it.

So yes, I somewhat concur with the statement that no one forced you to buy it, and no one promised you that you'd have it by now. When you reserved, Ford said "deliveries start <x>", and didn't promise a date. When you were invited to order, you were not promised a date other than you were invited to order a MY'22 F-150 Lightning, which means it'd be fully manufactured by October. So yes, you wait patiently like a reasonable human being who was promised nothing.

Add on top of this crazy shenanigans with supply chain issues over the past two years. Your expectations are quite unfair, and calling them "jackasses" is quite uncalled for. I understand your anxiousness, but I don't really understand pure anger and vitriol.

Do you think this is unique to just you? Or the Lightning? We had people on the ICE forums for months not getting any information about where their 2021's were while others were being built and shipped. And it continues to this day with the 2022's. The Maverick forum is even worse.

From this "jackass", as you like to call my employer, I apologize for what you're going through.

I hate to break it to you, but your not going to get an answer from Ford to any of your questions. The world is totally Fubar concerning supply chains and shipping right now.

Sitting back and waiting for something to happen is not in my DNA. What happened 10 years ago doesn't mean a damn thing. If there is something wrong with the truck or a reasonable explanation of why it's being held up then Ford should man-up and let the truck buyer know the problem. I guess the operators that you call on the Ford information line are only allowed to parrot the same information you can get online by the Ford tracking link. It's amazing how passive and submissive men have become in this new world.

So my truck had shipped on both CA and US sites and now it's back to just built... Spoke to FORD chat and it's sitting in mellvindale waiting to be shipped.. spoke to the dealer yesterday and they said that my truck is listed as "HOT" cause they have been asking about it and I have been asking about it... But I guess it's just a label... So no idea when it will ACTUALLY be shipped...

@#$&.....
I'm hanging out in mellvindale with ya. Probably ramp 58? I'll be sure to have my truck wave at yours as your loaded and I am watching from the side lines. (lol)

Oh Lord, seriously? Give me a break.

You should have negotiated a specific delivery in your contract negotiation. The "aggressive, dominant men" (cough cough) at Ford have the upper hand on you by setting the terms of your order. An aggressive, dominant man like Chuck Norris would set the terms and force Ford to comply, right?

Manufacturing of complex vehicles isn't as simple as you think. And when something goes wrong, you can't stop the line and make sure they all get done in numerical order. You fix the issue so the line can keep moving, then you go back and retrofit. And on top of it, you deal with the shipping delays from supply chain and logistics problems.

You're being completely unreasonable. I wish you well and I hope your blood pressure can handle the anger.

Pioneer, that's true I shouldn't call the employees jackass because they are programmed to only say what upper management wants them to say. Honestly I have owned four other F 150's and never seen a shit show like I am seeing now. Your boss Farley shot off his mouth about having all the pieces parts to build the first 15,000 vehicles so why are some Lightnings being held for a micro chip shortage then they claim now we have the chips and then they go back to their original script that the truck is still in Production. I own a business and if communication is not relayed to my customers they get pissed and rightly so. The guys that Reserved these vehicles the night of the Reveal should be afforded the courtesy of truthful communication.

To be fair, *most* of the delays we are seeing are related to transportation, not chips/parts. At least that's the impression I get. Farley made no guarantees with regards to transportation and I realize Ford is getting a lot of heat but most of this is out of their control. Its not just Ford, its not just the Lightning.

Its a free country so I guess you can take your business elsewhere. There's probably about 175,000 people waiting to order that will gladly take your place.

I mean, you could try to get a Rivian..I hear that's going real well. Or wait until 2024 for GM....

Ohhh - that's a good thought. I am really curious how much "better" GM may do with their rollout after sitting back watching all this unfold. They'll have nearly 2 extra years to figure it out. Can't wait to watch.
