To be fair, *most* of the delays we are seeing are related to transportation, not chips/parts. At least that's the impression I get. Farley made no guarantees with regards to transportation and I realize Ford is getting a lot of heat but most of this is out of their control. Its not just Ford, its not just the Lightning.

Its a free country so I guess you can take your business elsewhere. There's probably about 175,000 people waiting to order that will gladly take your place.

I mean, you could try to get a Rivian..I hear that's going real well. Or wait until 2024 for GM....
If the delays are related to shipping and transportation then all they have to say is that exact fact. If I would have recorded all the conversations with the Ford operators you could understand my frustration. I'm not looking for someone to sugarcoat the answers just let me know the real status. I own a business and understand shortages and shipping delays, but I at least throw my customers a bone of truthfulness.

Pioneer, that's true I shouldn't call the employees jackass because they are programmed to only say what upper management wants them to say. Honestly I have owned four other F 150's and never seen a shit show like I am seeing now. Your boss Farley shot off his mouth about having all the pieces parts to build the first 15,000 vehicles so why are some Lightnings being held for a micro chip shortage then they claim now we have the chips and then they go back to their original script that the truck is still in Production. I own a business and if communication is not relayed to my customers they get pissed and rightly so. The guys that Reserved these vehicles the night of the Reveal should be afforded the courtesy of truthful communication.
Well, I'll agree with you on a few things and disagree with others.

I'm not programed to repeat anything. I say the truth and freely give my opinion. Hell, I've been banned from a Ford forum for talking bad about Ford. I'm treated like Voldermort over there by the mods.

Farley shouldn't have said anything. I agree with that. But he likes to jab at Musk.

Your other F150's were probably built during better times. Ford schedules production on promises from suppliers on when parts will be delivered. When they don't show up, Ford has to pivot.

It sucks that some trucks are on a chip hold, but it's faster to retrofit certain parts then lose the production of a unit. I don't like that units sit for months waiting to be completed, but I don't make the rules.

Could this launch have gone better? Yes. But this is the time we live in now.

Could Ford be better at communication? Yes. But they won't. This is an incredibly large company and they will never spend the money or resources into something that will not directly affect the quality of run rate on their plants.

Your're free to vent. I get it. But to get as angry as you sound about a situation you cannot change is illogical and unhealthy. And when you insult people the way you do, you will receive less sympathy.

Ohhh - that's a good thought. I am really curious how much "better" GM may do with their rollout after sitting back watching all this unfold. They'll have nearly 2 extra years to figure it out. Can't wait to watch.

That was my point.

As a GM owner..I can say they tend to have good ideas with screwed up execution....

Do you think this is unique to just you? Or the Lightning? We had people on the ICE forums for months not getting any information about where their 2021's were while others were being built and shipped. And it continues to this day with the 2022's. The Maverick forum is even worse.

From this "jackass", as you like to call my employer, I apologize for what you're going through.

I hate to break it to you, but your not going to get an answer from Ford to any of your questions. The world is totally Fubar concerning supply chains and shipping right now.
Hey pioneer and @Ford Motor Company

we accept that there are still 50,000 built ford products waiting for chips then shipped.

i think some of the sentiment in this topic is getting lost or mis interpreted from the emotional frustration.
when the CEO says we are going to divert chips for lightning’s and it is a more important launch than bronco, or Mach-e, we are led to think delays would be minimal if at all.

my 90 test miles were completed at least a month ago. I’m now in my 3rd parking lot in past 3 weeks. None of these lots are the servicing/correction lots. Perhaps porters get paid by number trucks they move - could explain some of the movement.

so as a group there seems to be an inconsistent exit from these lots to our destinations. Most of are seeing trucks being delivered to our dealers that were built after ours. in my case 4 have been delivered. So it’s hard to swallow the hole logistics bottleneck at ford.
most of us on here that are whining can understand a washed out rail track or no drivers at train to truck transport is out of fords fault.

we would like to enjoy driving our new trucks - before the guy who rolled off the line 3 weeks ago.

the lack of clear communication irritates us too. I had an eta that expired 7/8. Yet I sit untouched with no new eta. Day 84 since blend.
Oneguynick was about 30/35 days after blend - I’m certainly going to be minimally 90.

so yeah we are irked.

What a first world problem we discuss here!

For 2 Ford EVs I ordered, I wanted the MME to arrive first because my wife wants a newer vehicle to replace her PHEV and my Lightning order is an "extra".

Well didn't happen that way the way I wanted it to go.

2022 MME is still in dealer accepted order and probably won't get it till early 2023 based on the recent Ford email and issues with recalls, HVBJB issues, etc...

2022 Lightning is now being delivered this week.
Still don't know what to do with the extra ride - now thinking I'd sell it since the used car market is inflated.

Just got to roll with it....

So I've been lurking about the past few days on various week build groups (I'm 5/16 group and blended 5/18). Most I've been following are later than my group and seems every day some lucky camper is getting the call / email their ship has come in. I can no longer feign happiness for them. I'm now on my third expected delivery date and my vehicle has not shipped so in 2 more days I'm on to my 4th expected delivery window. Flabbergasted a truck built 2 months ago is still not en route to Maryland. In my mind this roll-out has been an epic fail. I will now see the second Fed rate increase since my truck was built. Seriously at this point, when it eventually arrives I don't know if I'll bother with it and keep using my 2018 Outback for jobs that would be much better handled by this truck. I'm so disappointed @Ford Motor Company - from unbelievable excitement to being beaten down day after, week after week, month after month and nothing from Ford except the email that inevitably comes once their 10-day delivery window is missed yet again. Unbelievable so many of us "lottery" winners within the first four weeks of production sit in parking lot limbo while much later builds have their vehicles. Congratulations, sincerely @Ford Motor Company from changing my excitement to angst & anxiety. Can't even begin to imagine how folks earlier than me are feeling - it's like every day is Groundhog Day and makes me wonder if this has been so screwed up why should I have faith in @Ford Motor Company at all?

5/30 blend, 6/15 in production. No built status, no build date. Driving a borrowed car but wearing out my welcome, hope it gets finalized and shipped soon

I got ya. Today is day 90 from blend. Enthusiasm is dampened. Now we get group who tells how lucky we are to have an order at all. That may be the case, but we are in the group that got orders and we are to be more than a little Miffed.

have you asked your dealer to reach out to regional rep who should contact logistics.

Just did, their reply: Let me get with my manager to have them reach out to a point of contact that can help us with this. I apologize for the delays and inconveniences.

I'm just shy of two years waiting on a Bronco (with zero communication on when it may come) so I was very surprised to get a build date on my Lightning order. If anything I think these message boards have given me more patience than less.
If you are genuinely needing this particular vehicle for a specific purpose right this second I suppose I can see where you would have an issue with the process, but I just can't bring myself to complain that it is taking too long for me to spend $80 grand on a brand new truck. I guess I am just grateful to be in the position to do it.
That's about as grumpy as I get about this.
