Just started noticing this a few days ago. I use 1PD exclusively and so you're constantly feathering the throttle pedal to control speed. I have noticed if you release the pedal to slow down and then push it back to reaccelerate or maintain speed, I can feel a stickiness in the pedal -- it slightly resists my foot and then releases. Not enough to cause a speed change, but I can feel it. This is a new problem as the truck never had this issue before. Any thoughts? Perhaps more lubrication is needed?

Test it while the truck is off. The pedal isn't connected to anything so any issues should be present all the time. If there's an issue, call your dealer immediately. It's a safety issue.

Shoe/pedal interaction may also be contributing to your issue. Does the issue happen with shoes you haven't worn before while driving the truck?

I have checked it with the truck off, same issue. 3 different shoes have had the same effect. My truck is going in soon for other items, so I will add this to the list.

Good afternoon. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this pedal concern on my end?

I’m having this exact same issue. I’ve put 12,000 kilometres on the truck and the issue started this week. What did you end up doing?

I believe I found the problem. Over time, I think some dirt and debris collect around the pedal pivot point. If you look at the pedal, there is plastic on plastic contact. I used a liberal amount of silicone lubricant on and around the pivot point and the issue cleared up. Give it a try.

Thanks for the great tip! I've had my 2024 Lightning since late July of 2024 and noticed the sticking throttle pedal. I'll spray that point with silicone lubricant once the weather warms up a little in the next day or so.

For what it's worth, what I perceive with the throttle pedal is a slight stickiness when lifting off a few degrees along with a soft sound that indicates so.

That's similar to what I experienced, but I did not hear a sound. Instead, I could feel non-linear resistance at times. I believe this happens because there is some play on the pedal pivot axle and it can allow the side of the pedal bar to contact the inside of the channel where it moves through in the throttle sensor. When you look at it, it should be clear what I am referring to. Good luck!

I wanted to follow-up and say that the lubrication I applied to the pedal only temporarily relieves the issue. After a week or two, the stickiness returns. I have priced out replacement throttle sensors. I believe the part number for it is ML3Z-9F836-B -- Ford calls is a Pedal Travel Sensor. Anyway, while I will try to convince the dealership mine is defective (again), I'd like to know if replacing this sensor is a plug and play operation -- or is there a replacement procedure that uses FDRS to link the replacement part to the truck's computer?
