the jist of the original post was the mi/kwh along his travels: but, your battery pack does not CARE what the speed limit is, if you think that you 'have' to drive the speed limit - after all, it's a LIMIT, not the MINIMUM.
You'll have these issues in ANY ev if you continue to do the same. EVs, not manufacturers or models, are all going to react the same to speed and other 'limiting' factors to battery power usage.

If you drive 65 on a 75mph interstate, you'll see a massive difference... etc.
If, though, you think that 'just because' the speed limit is 75 that you HAVE to drive that, you will need a gas vehicle.

Well said, but with a caveat. Most states do have an “impeding traffic” statute. So knowing what that is is important. Hate for someone to drive on a 80 mph freeway at 55 mph to learn that the impeding statute is 15 under or 65 mph.

States like Oregon make it hard as we use the golden rule approach so it is subjective to each officer’s judgment on if you are “… impedes or blocks the normal and reasonable movement of traffic.”

So 65 on an 75 might be fine, but I bet a sheriff would look at you at 55. 🤷‍♂️

I do adjust my speed when I need to. My calculations showed that I didn’t need to. The truck failed me. It missed the mark by more than 10%. This is not OK.

The battery pack is 144.3kWh. It's 131kWh usable. the SOC on my ODB reader is not based on the physical limits. If it 127kWh (100% display SOC) would read 89% on the ODB reader, but it reads 97%.

Here's another example, when my truck glitched and wouldn't get to 100% display which allow me to charge to the full 130.7kWh. Note the HVB SOC reading and at this point, the battery wouldn't take any additional charge, it just hovered at 130.7kWh for the next 10-15 minutes.

Getting stuck at 99% display for several hours is not uncommon, as the BMS tries to balance all the cells. Nothing unusual there, however the SOC actual reading also showing 100 is baffling. I haven't seen anyone else get a reading like that. I have to ask the obvious, have you double checked that your pulling the right data? If the actual SOC is hitting 100%, I would take that to the dealership.

the national Minimum Interstate speed limit is 40.

unless you are doing something else 'wrong', no sheriff or policy or state trooper would give you a second glance... they are already going too fast, themselves.

we even recently got our fourth Son married, bringing in another Daughter-in-law, traveling a total of 1,200 miles over several days, including a day off for the wedding...
.... no issues... Mountains, Interstates, etc.

managing your expectations, and your driving habits, are the only way to make today's lack of charging locations work...it will be different in the short future, though... just keep at it.

if there is ANY word of advice, in most any 'range anxiety' situation: it's..... slow down.

I strongly disagree. The gist of the original post was quite clearly that the truck stopped dead with plenty of charge showing; and before that, that the charge radically dropped off while driving conditions remained the same.

This is a problem with the vehicle and it's Ford's fault. I think you should stop blaming the messenger.

It only happened once. Ever since the highest I've seen is 97% SOC and 127kWh.

Took it to the dealer to run diagnostics and everything checked out.

Ford needs to fix its BMS information on both ends of the spectrum.

Truth, fixing the BMS system would alleviate a lot of our problems/concerns.

How do you tow anything with a U-Haul trailer, then?
