It's completely ridiculous that there is an expectation that they'll kill a 12V LVB during the process of performing module updates.

If the tech is using a Rotunda, Clore, or similar battery charger with a power supply function there is no reason any 12V battery should be harmed during the process.

Simply put, if they killed the battery, they didn't follow instructions, Full Stop.
It is crazy to think that trained mechanics are doing this, but here we are. I was the victim of this on my first service appointment. They replaced the AGM, on my new lightning. The one thing I made sure I did when I started doing my own module programming was to have a high quality, high amperage power supply. Not just the tiny tiny Pro-Logix one, but one that can hold the battery through hours long programming. Have never had any issues just following that.

I have my CSP fix for the front sensors scheduled on Monday. How do I gently tell the service department to hook up the 12v to a battery tender without sounding like one of those a-hole customers who thinks they know better than the trained technicians? 🙂

I don't think there is a good political way to do this unless you are buddies with the mechanic. If they kill the battery, you get a new one. It's a waste, but what can we do. It was on the first iteration of that front sensor fix that they killed my battery. I pressed them on it but they didn't give up much info.

When I had the dealer do my sensors, I brought this up very transparently and the response I got was, we knew by learning the hard way, but have a good power source on the 12V system now.... Not a great response, but better than it could be 🤷‍♂️

This is a big deal. Anyone that’s struggled with OTA and has “general system performance” issues can now get a lot of most important modules updated courtesy of Ford.

The most exciting for me is that BCM is included since that one provides WAL functionality and I cannot update it myself through FDRS.

I do have no audio on CarPlay about 1 out of 5 times I get in the truck so I have a legitimate issue but unless some new updates also appeared with this TSB I doubt an update to my BCM will fix the issue.
I though I was the only one with no audio through carplay at times. I also very rarely get all speakers off on one side of the cabin, but it does happen like once every 3 months or so.

I think a lot of people have the silent carplay issue. But I thought I was the only one on the speakers except mine is the rear will stop working. Bout as frequently as you say. Half the time though it happens I probably don't even know because I'm the only one in the vehicle.

I have to double check im not going insane by going to the audio settings and moving the ball around to the side that I think is not working.
