Has anyone noticed a change in the way the warning chimes sound? This morning, mine started having a different tone/lower quality sound. Something is off, almost like the speaker is going bad or something. Audio from media plays fine. Any thoughts? I'll likely ask the dealer to double check it when I send it in for 40k service. Just curious if this is a one off or anyone else experience this.

Your chimes can come through 1 of 2 ways. Through the audio system speakers or through a small speaker on the Instrument Cluster. By default it is the audio system. Changing settings in Forscan can force it to be the instrument cluster. I've also had it change after an update, it seems to revert itself back to the audio system eventually.

My first thought was that I must have gotten an update. I checked the update screen and it was still on the 6.14 from a few weeks ago. I haven't messed with FORScan since fixing my tiny 360 camera. I do plan to enable BC 1.4 this weekend though. If it persists, I might look into changing those settings to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the tip!

Your LVB is low. It happens even to ICE F150s. Just drive it or put it on a trickle charger and it will be fine.

Use the steering wheel buttons to force reset your sync and they’ll come back. Your battery likely got low.

Many threads on this. If your sync system is shut down due to an update, deep sleep or low LVB, your sync system takes too long to boot up and your chimes default to the instrument cluster for that driving session. It usually corrects itself on next restart provided your update completes or LVB gets charged.

I swear I tried to search, have no idea how I missed that one. I'd like to blame it on poor sleep but it's more likely I got lazy and wasn't paying attention to my results. Thanks for pointing that out!

Nailed it, the sound restored itself on the drive home. Crisis averted! :D

i had same issue, even paid my dealer $180 to diagnose and of course they couldn't but i made them do the BCM update since i had to pay anyhow. ended up after that getting a LVB warning and replaced my 12v battery. im 8/22 build with 39k miles. takes 5 min and battery costs like $145 from ford direct. dealer wanted $275 for battery and install! they are nuts
