Yes. I used a Tesla mobile charger with the 14-30 plug pigtail. It charges at 24 amps.Has anyone used their mobile charger with the Pro Power outlet?
For the bed. Because 14-50 is way more popular than the 30 amp twist lock it comes with. I think it’s new they started including these. This came with my lighting XLT extended range. The salesman hasn’t been able to tell me what it is….![]()

That derating is based on residential wiring. The truck is engineered to deliver 30A continuously. The mobile charger that comes with the MachE is set for 32A but for the Lightning we get a 14-50 dongle with a yellow band indicating that it is rated for 30A, specifically so it could be used with the ProPower. There is a thread where someone tested the two versions of the portable unit with their Lightning and the MachE tripped the breaker but the Lightning version worked at 30A but I can’t find it right now.Ford has been running a commercial for the past month for both the MME and Lightning with a "so you thought EVs were boring..." tag line. In it, they say they "make an EV so powerful, it can charge other EVs" and they show someone using one of these adapters with what I believe is the Ford mobile charger (the shot is very quick).

The thing is, I thought the mobile charger is rated to deliver either 30 or 32 amps - I seem to recall it may have been originally rated at 32 but was re-rated/de-rated to 30. I also thought the Pro Power 240 volt outlet's overcurrent protection is 30 amps, but I assumed the 80% maximum continuous load rule in electrical codes should apply to the Pro Power outlet, which means one should not be drawing more than 24 amps continuously. That said, overcurrent protection of 30 amps would not do it's thing, at least not immediately, if something we're drawing 30. Though, that's cutting it close.
To me it makes sense to have a 30 amp outlet if the output is limited to 30 amps. 14-30 (dryer plug) would have been another choice but that's not a common generator standard like L14-30, so adapters wouldn't be as easily available.why doesn't ford's pro power just come as a common 14-50 outlet like the cybertruck?
