Tennessee should consider that when they vote Red or Blue. The R party has other priorities now.
That’s a lost cause. They are so steeped in the new version of the R party that they can’t see how they are hurting themselves short or long term.

My gut feeling is that the Lightning - as we know it - will not get NACS. There's really not a good reason for Ford to spend the money on it. In the coming months Ford will catch up with adapter production and OEM adapters will be readily available for purchase. If you think about it, most chargers are J1172/CCS. If Ford converted the truck to NACS you'd need to use an adapter more often.

As far as production of the truck, Ford isn't going to leave a gap. They will have a full-size EV truck available for purchase. They'll keep the current generation Lightning running until T3 is here. I suspect they will drop the F150 based Lightning then. It doesn't make financial sense to produce both.

When is the ICE F-150 getting a refresh? I don’t see Ford keeping the body styles separate for long.

I figure T3 will be their pure EV and closer to Rivian in size. If the Lightning lives on it’ll be a BEV version of whatever the ICE truck looks like.

If the T3 is "mid-sized" and they drop the Lightning, that would be a shame. I love the space in both the Frunk and backseat of my Lightning. Also the bed, and the 10,000 towing capacity.

I have driven the Rivian a couple of times, and it is nice, but it is definitely smaller and not as roomy.

T3 will be in 2027.
Sorry, yes a 27 model but my thought was the mid year release like they did with the OG Mustang or the “2005” F-150 refresh.

I could see them doing that if tooling is ready and they decided to not make a 2026 Lightning

Fired?

He is busting his hump, AND, is realistic about the path forward in the Automotive market. He can't control what buyers are wanting to purchase, especially with EVs, but he can change course in reaction to demand - while at the same time planning for the future.
Shareholders (the ones with the power to do anything) don't care about long term growth. Only short term gains for their portfolios. A reasonable leader with a vision like Farley is a liability to them. I would not be surprised at all if he resigned from board pressure.

Hope not.

Ford's stock has been a dog for 30+ years, so not sure the shareholders will doing anything now.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the T3 was pushed back further to see what political winds might change 4+ years from now.

Ford's strategy now, driven by market forces and buyers appetite, seems to be slowly develop EVs, but sell the heck out of hybrids and ICE trucks for the next 3-4 years.

Which I can not blame them.

Not enough people are buying Ford's Lightning, and MachE. Makes no sense to build 200,000 too many Lightnings and have them sit.

Tesla has squeezed every last cents out of the manufacturing process, and does not have Union Labor. It is going to be hard for Ford to bring the cost of EVs down to compete directly on price - and make a profit.

That’s the problem. Any business who thinks that way will be left behind. You basically will be paralyzed 2 years before any election and by the time you make a decision it will either be too late and another company took your market share or it will be time to wait again for the next

What Ford needs to worry about are customers like us who switch brands because they have abandoned the lightning platform/ or at least haven’t improved it- through performance or technology.

every year Ford goes after the completion In Their ICE vehicles with efficiency / torque /horsepower /payload.
Every two years the lightning should be able to increase range marginally to keep up with the completion. The batteries in our lightnings are probably a large % less as they were 4 years ago.

2025 lightning should have 350 range easy IMO .
