Almost 18,000 miles . No “real issues”.

- center interior speaker grill bulge
- passengers side running board bulge
- active air dam warnings which are “false positives”

.. I would call the above things nitpicking as issues . I could not be happier with this truck. .

Forums, and social media, attract complainers. People don't seek out places to say "all is well". You can't read a biased platform and draw conclusions.
Also attracts enthusiasts . How do you like your lightning ?

Absolutely love my truck, but I do have 2 minor issues

1) The Pre-conditioning bug. This is a software issue and nothing to do with the hardware of the truck itself. I suspect this will be fixed at some point by an OTA.

2) When I lift the larger side of the rear seat, it catches on the plastic covering for the seatbelt (upper portion) and can actually pop that plastic off. I suspect a minor misalignment. I can resolve the issue by holding the plastic cover with one hand while I lift with the other. Minor annoyance, but I will have the dealer take a look at some point. Not worth taking it in just for that.

Ford scratched a small mostly unnoticeable spot on some window trim in transit, but they don't have the part yet, and there's water in my tailgate light bar. I need to start going through my local Ford for stuff like this, instead of the place I had to buy it. My local Ford is 4 miles away, but has huge markups on Lightnings.

I received mine on 8-11. I have had no issues at all. I absolutely love the truck!! The speaker grill warp is really only small issue.

4+ months and 4000 miles, overall the truck is fine, I would not consider the slowness of OTA's to be a big issue, it will come at some point, the FP app has it's issues but nothing I can't adapt around its weaknesses. So, I would say that I have had a good experience so far.
Same here, except took delivery in early November. The Ford Pass app kinda sucks. Every time I open the app, it tells me my garage is empty with no vehicle, but then eventually wakes up. Set up phone as a key, and it keeps telling me to set up phone as a key.

And the Ford Charge Station Pro App has lost my charger already, which is annoying. I just ignore the app anyway, and not really sure what use the app is to me.

Other than that, the vehicle is awesome, and I have had zero issues. Love the build and build quality.

The app. The app the app the absolute garbage app.

I would have ordered a Mach E by now in addition to the truck if it weren't for the dumpster fire of an app.

Got my XLT SR in July. 5000 miles later and I have had 0 issues. The truck has exceeded my expectations and is great off the line.

One month for the Lariat ER. Have 800 miles on it. My first full size truck and first EV. What a ride. Loving it. Looking forward to driving it to South Padre in Feb. A 3,000 mile round trip.

At the risk of summoning Murphy, I'm ~2500 miles in and have had no quality issues with the truck. Any complaints I might have with it are things that are common to all of them and are design/feature issues. And even some of those can be worked around with settings.

  • The general bigness combined with the limited turning radius
  • The inability to limit the charging rate with the mobile charger
  • The fact that the power tailgate exists
  • The built-in USB ports only slow-charge my phone
  • The continual engaging / disengaging of the contactors whenever the key is within a few dozen feet of the truck (worked around by disabling approach lighting)
Nit picks. No "real" problems.

I hate to start a thread but it seems that a ton of Lightning owners has some sort of issues like mechanical and electronic.

It might just be easier to make this thread so that everyone who's truck has run for weeks, months without any issues. From the looks of it, not many people will post a flawless experience. :censored:
My Lariet was built in May and I took delivery in June. 6,000 miles. ZERO issues with my Lightning. Best. Truck. Ever.

Took delivery in October, 3500 miles and zero issues -- I absolutely love the truck. I have owned (or own) 2 Teslas and the biggest difference by far is the app. Tesla gets an A- whereas Fordpass gets a C-. Of all the easy things to fix, this is it --- c'mon Ford!

The second thing I would change is all the beeping and pop-up notifications -- there are so many that I basically ignore them now -- which creates an entirely different set of problems.

This right here... Start the truck and there's a hundred "DOO DOO DOO"s... I ignore them... and I end up driving down the road with my charge port door open.

2,200 miles and three months in. I love it. The driving experience is INSANE. It's been major issue free.

Only two small things:
a) The floppy center console bugs me. I did the nickel trick, still not much better. It needs a stronger spring. This isn't an issue, it's just a design decision I don't appreciate.
b) CarPlay sometimes doesn't automatically come up when I stat my truck. I have to press two buttons to get it going (I know, first world problems).

As with anything, there are trucks:
1) with big and small issues that have owners who post about finding solutions
2)with people that just complain about everything in life
3)that have no issues
4)that have owners who let everything slide off their back

I have so many clients and friends with Teslas that it’s become how I describe the Truck -“ imagine your Tesla, but with a poor phone app and poor UI but it has CarPlay “ . I’ve said this 100 times or more this month.
