What's the tech package?
I believe that enables autonomous driving so you can update tinder accounts, instagram, and other social media.

I apologize to those with a problem with the post title.
I see this as a placeholder for members to share their (future) experiences, and anyway we trade more in conjecture and hypotheses on this forum than in facts so no apology necessary in my mind.

edit: I also think it represents the anticipation and excitement we’re all feeling, and some of the reactions are pretty funny.

I emailed my dealer 3 days ago asking for an appointment to order my Lightning next week. There has been no reply so I contacted another much larger dealer in Lexington, KY (Pop. 350,000) thinking I might want to change dealers.

Today he emailed me back saying they had about 100 reservations and were allotted only 7 Lightnings so I would go to the end of the line.

Now, this raised my blood pressure a bit because I reserved about 10 hours after the May 19th event began and I was sure I had to be one of the first in Kentucky. Most of us had assumed that by reserving early our orders would be fulfilled first in line.

So, I went back to the Reservation Form and read the following under "DISCLOSURES" at the bottom:

Disclosure #177.
Reservation does not guarantee vehicle delivery nor priority for ordering a vehicle. See Reservation Terms and Conditions for important details.

(Underline and Bold I Added)

Now, I don't know what to think. Maybe the dealers are clueless? Maybe Ford has a lot of wiggle room? Maybe most or all of my assumptions have been wrong about the "Reservation Process".

TBH, I think you're reading a bit much into it. Although I am sure there will be some changes in order due to availability of parts, trim levels, geographic coverage(and dealer hijinks)...the INTENT is to have people with the earliest timestamp receive their Lightning first. I realize that may not always be the case, but that is at least the intent.

It is also important to realize the time you order does not necessarily indicate where you are in the scheme of scheduling your build. I'm giving Ford a little credit here--if that were the case everyone would show up at 8am on the day ordering opens trying to get to be first in line.

So I think what this means(and juves along with ordering windows)-- as long as you order in the window..you will be prioritized based on timestamp. You may be in the same window as someone who reserved on May 20 and he/she may actually "order" on Manday and you actually "order" on the next Thursday. However as long as your timestamp is sooner your build will in theory be before the other..regardless of when you actually order(as long as you order within the window).

Again..thats just how I read this and based on Bronco/MME process as I understand it. I don't think the dealer explained it completely and I think you're reading too much into the priority of "ordering" when actually the priority of the "building" is whats important.

Since Ford assigns the VIN in theory the dealer shouldn't have any say into what truck goes to whom since they are all custom build and you'd be follwing it along the way (VIN tracker?).

My opinion, everyone needs to take a step back and breathe... we've still got a long way to go. Also, my humble opinion-- clogging the phone line constantly asking when the orders will start, asking when the website config will be up is NOT helping matters either.

Everything I’ve read based off the reservation itself implies that FMC will notify us when to convert our reservation to an order. The information again, on the reservation itself also implies that delivery of the Lightning to the dealerships will be determined by vehicle model and configuration that you selected, residencies, and demand. IMO, I don’t see FMC doing much of anything until Congress makes a decision on the BBB act, again that’s just my opinion. I’m just as excited as everyone else here, can’t wait to get my Pro SR?

The dealer is making shit up. ford has done zero allocation yet because they most certainly do not know how many they are even going to build yet. They haven't even finalized the Truck yet.

If you are reserved w/ a dealer they can tell you exactly your order in the line. Does the exact position ultimately matter, not necessarily. But, it's a good indicator if you're going to get it soon* or a later.

I'm 3 of 700 at my dealer. I reserved within 18 minutes.

I understand what you are saying but nowhere does the reservation form state that reservation number nor date and time have any meaning. You are assuming based upon what was done with the Mach-E and Bronco processes that earlier reservists have a first in line to have their orders fulfilled.

I would feel much better if Ford would just tell those who put down their $100 where we stand and what "Reserve" status really emplies. If dealers are in charge of handing out their allocations I can accept that as part of the game but right now I'm playing a game without knowing the rules.

So the dealers know the ranking numbers of their reservations?

And your dealer has told you that you are #3?

If so, you have my highest CONGRATS :D

The dealer knows what number you are at that dealer. Whether they will tell you, that's a whole other story.....

Yup - I can't even get my dealer to tell me how many reservations they have!

They don't want you going to Morris!!
Lol - probably not. Our Mach-e got pushed back 2 weeks, so no info yet on how that delivery process is.

can someone explain what this means? 3rd person that picked that dealer? Or sorted by reservation time stamp the 3rd person? In other words a person that changes dealers end up at back of the line in new dealership?

This makes absolutely no sense to me. Why Ford ask you to pick a dealer if they are not planning to send your Lightening there. If they are planning to send it there, their allotment should be at least 100 plus whatever dealer ordered.

Man if there is one thing that push me toward Rivian or CT is dealing with dealerships

10 hours of reservations being accepted and you think you’d still be one of the first? Do you think everyone else in Kentucky is too poor for a 28k truck? No internet to make reservations? ?

It's based on timestamp verified by Granger on this forum.

Each dealer can pull a report from ford that shows who is reserved with them and their reservation timestamp. The timestamp follows you between dealers.
