Also received the email. I reserved on 5/26 so I've been planning on a MY2023. Now that the dealers will be receiving demos my wife and I will at least be able to test drive one prior to ordering.

Guess I will keep my $100 reservation intact and hope an early 2023 shows up....

In the meantime, my wife said to order the MME for her.....
Hurry. They are closing up the Mach E order books. Already closed Premium

Interesting.

The highest scheduling VIN# I have seen is 005900.
A long way from 15,000 MY2022s.
‘Lowest VIN has been 002900 so I am guessing the 0-2900 must be dealers stock.
Fleet orders must be making up a large segment of MY2022?

I did not receive this letter as I ordered 2/04/22 so I guess that confirms I got very lucky.
Unfortunately not everyone who placed an order is on this forum, and even if they are, may not have provided their info, so who knows what the number actually was.

You might be able to determine roughly based on the VIN numbers provided by those that have a build date. The VINs are definitely sequential by assigned build weeks, which is confusing, but the largest number I have seen for the last five digits has been under 6,000 so far.

Is this for ordering wave or scheduling wave?

If it's scheduling wave, I'm pretty confused. I'm a wave 1 order. I'm not sure why they would have opened additional waves if they couldn't fill the first wave alone.

Im usually very pessimistic about these things (day 1 res in first 30 mins) but I have a feeling it has to do with the EV restructuring they’ve recently announced. They’re going to plan the new manufacturer direct to consumer model and tighten things up with the new team. Instead of waiting, they’re cutting it now so they can start taking orders earlier for the 23MY under the Model E structure.

The closed Route 1 too. I ordered a Premium right before it closed. I hope to have it before the end of the year.

So much for 2022; hope my hybrid Silverado can go another year. Next year will be a decision between Ford and Chevy.

I wonder how long Ford will keep open the order window for wave invitees that have yet to place an order or defer? It was supposed to be till March 31st.

Also curious if someone deferred their order to 2023 in hopes of getting a Pro I wonder if the opportunity to order a 2022 Lariat or Platinum is still available?

This. While it sucks you couldn’t order you might not have to go through all the BS some will go through when taking delivery. Stand by for rough seas, you might see a lot of Lightnings with markups on dealer lots.

2022 Lightning (Ordered 6/19, delivered 10/28/22)
It’s a bummer but also better to get 23 underway and probably get some out before year end. For those saying it was handled poorly… I’m not sure what you expect to do when there’s 200,000 orders for something that hasn’t had any production yet. They can’t send a daily update. All in all they’ve stayed true to the schedule they laid out at the reveal which is pretty amazing all things considered. If what you aren’t happy with is the perceived “order they went in” you’re not going to get any better with GM or anyone else new to the game. People are waiting on everything these days. They have a reason and rationale to the order they went in and it’s obviously multi factored (date, model, state, etc) it’s just near impossible to keep all 200,000 people happy. We can’t even get 4 people around my dinner table to agree on something… good luck with 200,000. Stay positive and keep watching out! If you bow out, hopefully you’re satisfied wherever you go. Have a great weekend! ?

Some people just want the world handed to them on a silver platter. FFS its just a truck and there will be one available for most of us probably next year.

Go cultivate your garden....

@Administrator I think your headline on this in the news feed is very misleading. Production Scheduling has not ended. Only the wave order invites for 2022 models has ended.
